The Interview Showcase #91 - Exclusive Talk with A Bulgarian musician/ blogger

in Hot News Community8 months ago

Hello people of Steem and Steemit,

Welcome to the 91st edition of “The interview showcase...." and my 15th show for 2024.

If you are new to this page, this lifestyle program has many educational values. A weekly interview of users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.

It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steem and Steemit itself.

I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.

They also share some tips that can help other users understand the blockchain and correctly use it. Sometimes they seek valuable suggestions here to help them solve some of their challenges.

On this week's edition of the Interview showcase, I would be speaking with a Bulgarian music artist who has a strong passion for music and have been doing this for many years now. He is also a good writer and I won't be wrong if I say that art is his second name. Please join me as I welcome @shemzee all the way from Bulgaria to the Interview showcase.

Ubongudofot
: Hi Shemzee, welcome to my show. How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

🔶Shemzee : Hi Ubong! Thank you very much for inviting me to your show. I'd describe myself as a friendly storyteller who endeavors to share my narratives with the world through songs, poetry, and texts.

Ubongudofot
: How did you first hear about Steemit?

🔶Shemzee : I first heard about Steemit from a political blogger from my native Bulgaria, whom I don't know personally. He claimed that on this platform, his texts weren't censored and could not be deleted. Additionally, he mentioned there was an option to earn cryptocurrency if people found your work interesting.

Ubongudofot
: What was your initial impression of the platform?

🔶Shemzee : My initial impression was of a friendly space, devoid of foul language often found on other platforms, with plenty of interesting content creators from all around the world.

Ubongudofot
: What is the best thing about Steemit?

🔶Shemzee : The best thing about Steemit, in my opinion, is the appreciation authors receive for their work. There's also the absence of censorship, which allows for free expression, and the opportunity to build an audience if you have something interesting or creative to offer.

Ubongudofot
: What are some lapses you would like to see improved on Steemit?

🔶Shemzee : I'd like to see more encouragement for musicians and writers who offer original and good quality content on Steemit. It appears that photographers and diary bloggers tend to receive more attention, and I believe there should be more support for diverse creative endeavors.

Ubongudofot
: What's your prediction on this coming market bull run about what could happen to Steem in a couple of months?

🔶Shemzee : I have no idea.

Ubongudofot
: What inspired you to enter music career?

🔶Shemzee : What inspired me to enter a music career was a friend of mine who sadly passed away last year. In the early '90s, he released an album that comprised solely of original compositions—no covers. He was this handsome, blue-eyed rockabilly guy who exuded coolness with his leather jackets and rock 'n' roll vibes on Fender guitars. What made him unique was his use of Spanish tuning instead of the classical Italian tuning. He was a significant influence on me, and I aspired to be a rock star like him.

Ubongudofot
: I'm so sorry to hear about your friend who passed away

Ubongudofot
: How was music like in your early age?

🔶Shemzee : In my early age, music was heavily influenced by the grunge scene of the 90s, particularly bands like Nirvana, as well as the broader Seattle wave of music. These genres shaped my musical tastes and inspired me to explore and create within that sonic landscape. Later on, I discovered a myriad of different genres from the 60s and 70s, broadening my musical horizons significantly. I delved into the realms of rock 'n' roll, reggae, dub, and punk rock, each offering its own unique flavor and contributing to the eclectic mix of influences that inform my music to this day.

Ubongudofot
: You may be surprise to see or hear what is trending now among the Gen-Z in Africa. Feel free to dance if you can, but use your earpiece for a good sound and rhythm 😀

Ubongudofot
: What does it takes to produce a music for the public?

🔶Shemzee : First, you need to have a good and interesting idea for a song. Then, depending on the nature of the idea, you might need specific instruments, vocals, or other elements to bring it to life. I've produced songs using a single acoustic guitar, incorporating many instruments, utilizing free loops, and collaborating with other musicians. The process can vary greatly depending on the vision for the music and the resources available. Additionally, it's crucial to be authentic and honest in your music. When you pour your genuine emotions and experiences into your work, the public can sense it, and they often react more strongly to music that feels sincere and heartfelt.

Ubongudofot
: Many years ago, there use to be Steem music open mic, do you think we can create something like that again in the blog and what do you think can be done to encourage it?

🔶Shemzee : I used to participate in Steem Open Mic, and I genuinely miss it. It provided a platform where musicians could connect with like-minded individuals and collaborate on projects. I would absolutely love to see it make a comeback or something similar.

To encourage its revival, I believe promoting it across various social media channels, offering incentives or rewards for participation, and fostering a supportive community environment would be essential steps. Additionally, actively involving musicians in the planning and implementation process could help ensure its success and longevity.

🔶Shemzee : Interesting points.

Ubongudofot
: Who's blog do you like reading?

🔶Shemzee : travelingsteem - https://steemit.com/trending/hive-188972.

Ubongudofot
: If you were to feature a music artist, who would that be? Are there other music artists in the Steemt blog you can introduce me to?

🔶Shemzee : If I were to feature a music artist, it would be Estelio Padilla. He is a fantastic musician who sings and plays from the heart, showcasing mastery in Latin music.

Ubongudofot
: If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would that be?

🔶Shemzee : Me.

Ubongudofot
: Apart from music, what do you like doing in your leisure?

🔶Shemzee : Apart from music, I thoroughly enjoy traveling, as it allows me to explore new cultures, meet fascinating people, and immerse myself in different environments. Additionally, I have a passion for trying new culinary experiences, as food is another gateway to understanding various cultures and traditions. Whether it's sampling street food in bustling markets or indulging in fine dining at local restaurants, I find joy in discovering new flavors and cuisines during my leisure time.

Ubongudofot
: Which sweet memory from your childhood will you never forget and what was it?

🔶Shemzee : One sweet memory from my childhood that I will never forget happened when I was seven years old, on my first day at school. The teachers misspelled my name, and I couldn't find my assigned class. Feeling lost and overwhelmed, a kind young teacher named Mr. Angelov, who was also starting his first day at the school, noticed my distress and took me into his class to prevent me from crying. From that moment on, I felt a sense of belonging, and I refused to leave Mr. Angelov's class, officially becoming a part of his class and forming a bond that I cherish to this day.

Ubongudofot
: Which user/users will you like me to feature on my show?

🔶Shemzee : @donatello.

Ubongudofot
: What's your favourite music?

🔶Shemzee : Honest brave music that comes from the heart, the genre is not that important.

Ubongudofot
: If you were to live with a pet forever, which pet would that be?

🔶Shemzee : If I were to live with a pet forever, it would undoubtedly be my tortoise named Zhoro. He's been a cherished companion for over 17 years, and my love for him knows no bounds.

Ubongudofot
: If I was to visit Bulgaria, which spot would you take me to for some cool beer?

🔶Shemzee : If you were to visit Bulgaria, I would definitely take you to Cubo, a bar in Varna. It's a special spot nestled by the Black Sea where you can enjoy some fantastic beer and soak in the stunning seaside views.

Ubongudofot
: That sounds like a deal!

Ubongudofot
: What message do you have for the Steemit team?

🔶Shemzee : Keep up the fantastic work, Steemit team! Your dedication to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community platform is truly commendable. Let's continue to innovate and empower creators worldwide.

Great interview I must say

It was fun reading thorough
I was mused by the misspelling of your name and that awful feeling of being lost, thanks to that great teacher who came to your rescue. We need more understanding people like that today.

Thanks to our host for such a great interview, looking forward to the next showcase.
