Greetings my food loving friends, I greet you with an indeliblevibration of joy. Yes man! Last time in introduced yoh to my mandoline and I showed you what it could do.
Today I want to introduce you to my first ever pineapple 🍍 corer. Growing up in Jamaica 🇯🇲, we take a knife and try to skillfully peel pineapples without wasting anything. Now I’m older , living away from Yawd, I think 🤔 why not try some other things?

Here’s my little friend ,unfortunately this also arrived without a manual. Nevertheless, there was no need to worry as there are a lot of videos out there as to how to use a pineapple corer. Exhibit A

Moreover, there are only three parts so it was very easy to figure out.

Grab the handle and connect it to the corer blade , easy like one , two, three. After that , remove the top/head of the pineapple.

Place the corer on top of the pineapple and gently turn to the right. It is surprisingly simple and uncomplicated.

It took less that an minute to remove the inner part of the pineapple and the whole thing from assembly to removing the core took less than five minutes.

Many of these equipment come with multiple size blades , mine being on the cheaper end came with only size blade. This did not perfectly fit the size of the pineapple I was working with so there was quite a bit left inside.

You could use a knife 🔪 or any sharp instrument to remove the excess but be careful not to press too hard or not to cut towards yourself to avoid any accidents. I had other things in mind but let us pause for a cause here.

When I first opened the box, I wondered what this yellow thing was for. It wasn’t until I had removed the fleshy parts of the pineapple I figured it out. If you want smaller pieces , this bad boy will assist in seconds.

Now back to what to do with the remaining portion of the pineapple- what do you do in such cases ?
As kingstonian I was privileged to grow up with my grandpa and grandma who were from rural parts of Jamaica so I’m fortunate to be born in town but trained in the ways of the “country” folks. I did what my grandma would. -

Cut that skin up add some ginger , some pimento/all spice if you have it and boil for about thirty minutes. After that you can sweeten if you wish with preferably brown sugar. If you use honey 🍯 it could alter the taste. A little lemon or lime is also a good match here. Let it cool , add a bit of ice and bobs your uncle - pineapple juice. If you try it , let me know how it, I believe you will like it. This has been another indeliblevibration!
