La situación en la estación GB01, la puerta de entrada al sector inu del brazo exterior, era un completo caos, ya se había recibido respuesta de las flotas estacionadas en Atlas, Heracles y la lejana Perséfone, se dirigían a territorio inu y de ahí, al halo, para reforzar las fuerzas que patrullaban el borde exterior de la galaxia desde los sucesos acaecidos ochocientos años en el pasado.
―Aun no sabemos con exactitud que ha sucedido, el reporte de la fragata Minos indica que una nave de origen desconocido salió de un salto a poco más de diez mil kilómetros de su posición y de inmediato lanzó un ataque con armas de plasma ―explicó el general Oliver Almeida, al comité del Parlamento encargado de atender la situación ―. La fragata respondió el fuego de inmediato y cuatro escuadrones de cazas se unieron a ella, logrando hacer que la nave enemiga emprendiera la retirada de inmediato. A pesar de esto, la fragata resultó gravemente dañada y debió ser evacuada por el personal. Actualmente es remolcada para ser enviada a territorio inu para reparar los daños.
―Tengo entendido que las flotas de Atlas, Heracles y Perséfone se está movilizando hacia su localización, iniciaremos una petición para el envío de más personal y provisiones desde territorio inu, además, nuestros aliados, no apoyaran enviando dos divisiones de drones autónomos de los que resguardan sus nodos ―explicó el senador Olaf De Sousa, presidente de la comisión de seguridad del parlamento.
―Entendido senador De Sousa ―respondió Almeida ―. Se está procediendo a reforzar las patrullas y a reposicionar los acorazados y los drones de respuesta rápida inu. Además, se estableció una nueva red de sensores a un año luz de la estación para prevenir futuras incursiones enemigas.
―¿Qué se sabe de los atacantes? ―preguntó De Sousa.
―Nada más de lo que ya sabíamos, tiene tecnología de salto por impulso espacio temporal, al menos tan avanzada como la nuestra y sus naves están equipadas con armas de plasma de gran alcance y potencia, que fácilmente pueden superar los escudos electromagnéticos de nuestras naves, lo que las hace vulnerables.
―Eso no resulta muy alentador, que han dicho los consultores inus, al respecto ―preguntó De Sousa.
―Creen que, con un reajuste de las cargas y cambio en la frecuencia de los escudos, podrán resultar efectivos contra sus armas, ya se está trabajando en eso ―respondió el general.
―Tan pronto hagan la actualización, comuníquenla a las flotas que se dirigen hacia a ustedes para que ellos también la incorporen.
―Así se hará senador.
Aunque no era la primera vez que los humanos se cruzaban con esta especie beligerante, que parecía provenir de alguna parte del halo, su conocimiento sobre ella era prácticamente nulo, sólo tenían una leve noción sobre sus naves y capacidades, pero desconocían por completo sus intenciones y motivaciones, así como su apariencia o tecnología.
Sus naves, en un número hasta ahora nunca mayor a tres, sólo se desplegaban después de salir de un salto de impulso espacio temporal, atacaban repentinamente y tras destruir sus objetivos, se retiraban sin más explicaciones.

The situation at GB01 station, the gateway to the Inuit sector of the outer arm, was in complete chaos. Although it was not the first time that humans had encountered this belligerent species, which seemed to come from somewhere in the halo, their knowledge about it was practically nil, they had only a slight notion about its ships and capabilities, but they were completely unaware of its intentions and motivations, as well as its appearance or technology.
Their ships, so far never more than three, just deployed after a jump of impulse in space and time, attacked suddenly and, after destroying their targets, withdrew without further explanation.
