The astronauts who voted in the US election from space.
The US election is one week away. In the meantime, about 5 crore voters have cast their votes in advance. This time an astronaut voted in the US election from space. Astronaut Kate Rubins casts her ballot at the International Space Station booth. NASA later posted a picture of the voting on their verified Twitter.
Kate went to the International Space Station on October 14 with two Russian astronauts. He will return after the November 3 US presidential election. So he voted from the space station. A photo released by NASA shows a voting booth set up inside the space station. Kate is standing outside him.
A form is sent by email to vote. Fill it out and send it back to Kate. There again in the address column is written 'Low Earth Orbit'. However, this is not the first time that Kate has voted from the International Space Station in 2016. The law was passed in 1998 in the United States.
