Review

We begin the book with our protagonist Clary, who decides to go to the fashionable nightclub in her city, the Pandemonium, she is enthralled to see an attractive boy, she decides to follow him and suddenly finds that he is killed by a group of three , all dressed in black and with several strange tattoos, the most surprising thing for her is that no one else seemed to notice the presence of that group and to increase her astonishment the boy's body turns to dust in front of her eyes, scared she leaves the place but without realizing that one of the boys realized that he saw them.

A couple of days after that incident, Clary feels that she is being followed, on one occasion she separates from her best friend and decides to go confront her stalker, finding herself with a tall, blond boy with a conceited and hateful attitude, he explains that she does not have to be able to see him because she is a mundane, at one point in the explanation of the events she receives a call from her mother who, upset, tells her not to go home, the call is cut off and Clary scared goes in search of his mother to the apartment.

Arriving at her apartment she realizes that everything is a mess, the furniture destroyed, several things lying on the floor, seeing this her nervousness became even more growing, the fear finished taking over her when she saw a creature, a monster watching him that soon rushed his attack against her, in the struggle managed to bite her just moments before her blonde stalker managed to help her kill the creature.

After a few pages Clary arrives at the institute, where she meets the other two who were with Jace the night of the Pandemonium, three days later because the predator's poison left her totally unconscious, she meets Hodge who was their tutor and teacher, he explains various things to her, about The Key, The Accords, The Circle and more.

Later we can see in the dangerous situations in which Clary gets involved in order to rescue her mother, sometimes with her best friend and always in the company of Jace and the pair that accompanies him.

This is the first book, City of Bones, it has a linear plot, without time jumps but it does not imply that it is boring, the writer knows well how to keep the reader hooked, Clary is a very well done character, she matures with the passage of time story, and she is not the usual female character who needs help, she has a strong character, in the first approaches with Jace we can see a love-hate relationship, which later ends in one of the most beautiful romantic stories I've ever read, of course It is that it has several clichés of children's literature, but the plot grabs you and leaves you wanting more.
