Post-trip photo sharing (End)! [Timang Beach, Yogyakarta, Indonesia]

in ART LOVERS5 years ago

It's been months, but here it is.

After the "instagrammable" photo spot, we straight headed to the last destination of the entire trip - the Timang Beach. It's another pretty dizzy ride on narrow tar roads across mountains (like most of our car trips throughout our entire journey) for a couple of hours until we reach the restaurant for an amazing seafood lunch which my mum loved a lot, and after that we hopped on a jeep for another insanely bumpy ride through a rocky and steep mountain path headed for the beach.

I can't really describe how bumpy it was, but just imagine that the road is made out of rocks as big as your head :) that should give an idea.

It didn't take too long before we get to come down from the vehicle, adjust our heads and have this beautiful view to get amazed at.

Technically speaking, it is a beach. It has the standard sand and waves to be a normal beach, but tourists aren't going for that. There's another attraction here more worth the money and time, so... yes.

Imagine getting dazzled by a huge rock on a sea but that's what nature do to you.

To get on the big rock and take a closer look at it (curiosity!), you can choose to walk the hanging bridge, or use the bootleg cable car powered by workers pulling the ropes to move it around to get to it very quickly. Both need tickets and both are equally scary, so pick your poison :) of course you can also choose to swim or row a boat... but the sea isn't smooth at all!

We decided to go with the cable car anyway, being panic for 20 seconds is not worse than staying panicked for 5 minutes. And it's quite a one-of-a-lifetime experience flying across the sea like that, where else can you try this?

Ah yes, the waves can get pretty rough here. So, no boats...

And now we get to look at it really closely. Due to reasons I don't quite understand (I guess it has something to do with the sea), the stone has a lot of interesting tiny holes on it. And interesting shape, too. Looks like a coral except that it is not!

And you get a better view from here too. A lot of amazing views.

We're pretty lucky to have the perfect weather during this visit, it really contributes a lot to the photos. And it's such a magical place that I really want Alan Walker to make a music video here... it will be crazy. The constantly blowing wind and the sound of waves slapping the edges of the beach (and the stone) makes this place a really cool place to sit for a whole evening. If only we aren't rushing for the airport...

That's all then! Pretty happy that I managed to finish this series. Although it took 4 months longer than expected but it's my fault :P

Hope you enjoyed and see you if I write again :)

What a nice bridge there...a little bit scary too! :)
Nice pics! Well done!

Thanks! And yeah, especially when the waves get high... There's a chance to get wet but the bridge remains steady hehe.
