Photo52 Challenge Week 11 - Green - Evergreens on my Wednesday Walk
We're on to week 11 in the Photo52 challenge already, with a timely theme this week of "Green"! Details here
I'm going to share with you some Evergreens that I love on my #WednesdayWalk around my place in the Boreal forest of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Starting with the magnificent white spruce at the head of our lane.

As we head down the lane we come to the walking path edged with golden willows. Just before it is another stand of evergreens.

In that stand of evergreens which are spruce is one of the only coniferous trees which sheds it's needles in the winter - the tamarack.

Past the willow lane is more towering evergreens just before it breaks into our yard.

In the yard is the wood shed with a fair amount of wood left although we burnt quite a bit for it was a cold winter!

Looking another direction the view from the deck shows the trail to the neighbors lined with evergreens of spruce and pine trees.

Bruno loves to sit up on the deck surveying his domain!

He likes to watch the birds too (and chase them sometimes).
We spotted a nuthatch hanging upside down on a tree stump. that is how they like to feed, upside down. You see the walking up and down the trees too! The nuthatch will hide seeds under the bark of trees or in crevises to eat later.

As the sun began to set behind the evergreen trees it created a hexagon shape with it's rays.
Sun Setting Behind the Evergreen Trees
As the sun sets behind the evergreens I'll leave you with one last view from off our deck showing the glow in the sun room and our home surrounded by large spruce and pine trees.

What a beautiful walk, I love all the green trees
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Even with all your snow, you had plenty of green for St. Patrick's day! Does Bruno like it when you stop for photos or would he prefer you kept moving?
Yes no shortage of green around here!
In these photos Bruno was off leash and he's usually off doing his thing some ways in front of me so I have to capture these moments! He is more photogenic than our cat JJ who makes faces and moves away when he sees you trying to take a photo, Bruno doesn't seem to care but I could never get him to stay in one place for a photo if he wasn't already being still. I have some other photos when I took him for a walk down the road by myself with him on a leash. I could get him to sit for a bit while I was taking some photos but it wasn't long after my attention was off him that he began sniffing around. Usually my husband has him on the leash when we go for walks off our property.
Oh, yes! What a beautiful day this is, and I love all the spruce trees surrounding you.
Le sigh.
It makes such a wonderful environment and who wouldn't want to be there? I can remember spending a lot of time in the Canadian countryside growing up and although it wasn't my mother's favorite, it was my father's. :)
Bruno is loving life, isn't he? :)

Bruno does love life! Although he is 8 years old (old for a large breed dog) he has lots of puppy in him!
Thank-you for the tip!

Thanks for sharing all your natural beauty, and Bruno too! ❤️ The nuthatch is a good bird to share with #featheredfriends. They are such acrobats and so much fun to watch. !tip
Happy to share my bird photos with #featheredfriends ! I was trying to get a video of the nuthatch climbing up and down the tree but as of yet I haven't been able too but I'll be watching for the right moment!
Thank-you for the tip!
My pleasure! 😘
