Everyone wants to stay fit and healthy, and this week’s task called “Push-ups for Upper Body Muscles” shows how great our upper body muscles can become with the help of simple exercises. If only a few minutes of our day are spent performing various exercises geared towards personal body care, then the results will be a healthier, happier person.
In this article of teacher @marvinvelasquez I will describe the great impact of push-ups on muscles of upper body and my schedule for this kind of exercising.
Push-up Learnings and their Benefit For Upper Body Strength
Another great exercise that works all the different part of the upper body adequately is the push-ups. They specialize in the muscles of the neck, shoulders, upper back, chest and arms all of which are very important for bodily strength and stability. Like other forms of body weight exercises, push-ups are easy to implement and efficient pertinent to whoever wants to enhance on their training sessions.
Push-ups and How It Works:
1. Push-ups for Shoulders and Upper Back
Exercise Level: Beginner (Soft Mode)
For this exercise, I accommodated myself with a little leaning forward and placing my head on my arms. To do this, I flexed my hands at the elbow level thus allowing my shoulders and neck to shift forward. Since for me it was the first time I had to perform this kind of abdominal exercise, I had to maintain my knees on the floor just to manage my body weight.
This exercise is of specific interest with regards to the upper back, shoulders, and neck parts while slowly working towards enhancement of balance and flexibility of the body.
2. Every day:

Exercise Level: Beginner (Soft Mode)
It involves bending the arms over the chest and then placing the face on the mat subsequently the body has to be raised using the arms. As you hold the position for some time, you then release such a position and restore back to the initial place. The first movement involved in the warm up was the squat, where I did 10 repetitions, then took a 10 second break, before doing another 10 reps.
Actually, I sit on the beginner mode by leaning on my knees on the floor so that I would be able to achieve the right form and work on the strength at the same time.
3. Parallel Push-ups
Exercise Level: Beginner (Soft Mode)
To do this, I made use of two benches as a base for comparison. Thus, with the help of my hands, I slid my body up and down while bending my elbows and using my legs as for squats. Several muscles are involved in this exercise particularly the shoulders, chest, upper back, triceps and forearms.
With this I had to do at a small intensity to ensure that I bend safely through my legs as I built my arms muscles.
My Experience on push-ups
I consider, that carrying out these exercises was a likeable process for me. As push-ups are not now included in my training, I chose the soft mode for beginners at the start. It helped me to ease into the movements without putting too much pressure not my muscles which helped me avoid getting dizzy.
It just felt like it was the right thing to do to start gently because it made me gain confidence within the muscles as well. Any new exercise takes time to shape and develop, for this reason, transition from easy exercises to the more intense should be gradual.
Advantages of Starting in Soft Mode
Beginning with a beginner-friendly approach has several advantages:
- Reduced Risk of Injury: Talking of form and equitable distribution of pressures, I never ban myself from exerting pressure on any of my muscles or joints.
- Gradual Strength Building: It gave me the opportunity to tone up my muscles gradually without the risk of injury through some kind of complication.
- Improved Confidence: The feeling that achieved after successfully launching working out helped me to continue exercise regularly.
Conclusion
I believe that it was rather great that I got through this challenge in order to improve physical fitness and gain knowledge about new exercises. With only a few easy steps, push-ups help to develop the upper body muscles and improve the person’s well-being.
Anyone, including my friends and other Steemit members, who is interested in taking little steps towards a healthier life should engage in such a challenge. Certainly, a few movements per day make a world of difference in your life and overall well-being.
