Welcome to "SEC S20W5". Plantation is a part of agriculture. Plantation is very important for our world.Plantation and its maintenance play a very important role in protecting the environment. Plantation is not only about planting trees, proper maintenance and care is also an essential part of it. By proper planting and maintenance of trees, we can control the temperature of the world.Plantation is very important for our environment and life. Trees provide oxygen to the environment and purify the air by absorbing carbon dioxide. Besides, trees prevent soil erosion and protect us by reducing the incidence of natural disasters. By planting trees we can balance the environment and preserve biodiversity. Trees also play an immense role in providing cool shade and food production. So all we need is the growth of trees, ensured by proper planting at right time and proper place and regular maintenance.

Right time for planting trees

We know the right time to plant trees worldwide varies according to climate, soil, and season. Generally the best time to plant trees is monsoon and spring. Because during this time the soil is moist and plants can grow easily. However, plantations are done at different times for different regions. If we calculate a region then we can plant according to this time worldwide. Of course we will consider local weather and soil conditions before planting.

  • Tropical Regions: Monsoon (June-August) is the ideal time for planting.

  • Cold regions: Planting is best in early spring (March-April) or early summer.

  • Central region: Planting is suitable during spring (March-May) after winter.

Choosing the right location

We know that plants produce food through the process of photosynthesis. This photosynthesis is possible only when the plant receives the presence of sun. So we have to select a place to plant gaxah where sunlight can enter properly. For this we can select some areas where we can plant trees. Forests and bare land, urban and suburban boundaries of cropland, hilly areas Various children's parks, backyards, rooftops and banks of water bodies. But no matter where we plant trees, we have to provide enough water for these trees. Then we can plant trees properly and get adequate results from them.

Selection of suitable trees

The tree should be selected according to the climate and soil type of the area, so that it can survive easily. Otherwise we will waste our money and time if we make a mistake in tree selection. We can select some plants for areas with cold and high temperatures that will germinate easily. We can plant these plants in areas with low temperature: Conifer, pine, cypress, spruce, oak, birch, cherry tree, apple tree. These trees are able to survive in different countries of the world. These trees are green there even though it is very cold. These trees were mentioned to us in the agricultural fair this time.Again we can select these plants for areas with high temperature. These plants can survive with very little water. We can also call these desert trees. Palm tree, Acacia tree, Neem tree, Horse tree, Lemon tree, Mango tree, Cactus

Preparing the soil

Before planting trees we must prepare the soil. For soil preparation we need to apply organic fertilizers in the hole we will prepare for planting. Biofertilizers increase the fertility of our land. If we apply enough fertilizers and organic fertilizers then the plants will grow properly. But before soil preparation we must test the soil PH value of that place. If you know the PH value of the soil, you can know whether you need to mix acid or alkaline sodhak in the soil.

All the preparations that we have to take after planting the trees are

First Irrigate

Water needs according to the age of the plant. Water should be regularly supplied to the roots of the plant especially during the dry season. Those who plant trees in desert areas must provide permanent drainage or piped water irrigation in this area. Then irrigate when the temperature is high otherwise do not apply irrigation. This will reduce electricity and water consumption. Besides, those who are going to garden different fruits can directly irrigate the garden with the help of large peas. The better the irrigation, the better the fruit and flower production. So we have to pay attention to irrigation system. Those who plant plants in tubs in the backyard or on the roof must have a drip irrigation system at the bottom of the tub so that water does not accumulate at the base of the plant and damage the plant.

Fertilize

Fertilizer should be applied in proper amount for plant growth. Generally it is better to use natural organic fertilizers or compost but sometimes chemical fertilizers have to be applied if nutrients are lacking. Excessive chemical fertilizers should not be applied directly to the roots of the plant. In case of fruit trees, it is better to apply fertilizer in circles 3 feet apart. Special Note: Avoid applying water to the root of the plant after applying fertilizer. Many times problems such as downy mildew are seen when fertilizers and water are applied together. The best thing to do is to apply the plant nutrients by spraying.

Removal of obstructions

Weeds and other unwanted vegetation should be removed around the plant so that the plant can grow properly. For large trees we can apply glyphosate. For big weeds we can use paraquat, ammonium glyphosate, glufosinate ammonium. It is best to prune small plants without applying herbicides at the base. Avoid applying herbicides in fruit orchards while the fruit is still in fruit. Because the ones we apply to control larger weeds have a shelf life of about 53 days. So we need to control weeds at the right time. If the weeds are not controlled at the right time, they will eat the nutrients of our plants and destroy the nutrients of the plants.

Use of insecticides& Fungicide

Safe insecticides should be used when plants are attacked by insects. Leaf-eating insects are most commonly seen in plants. Acetamiprid is best for control of this pest, but hoppers can be found on other trees, including mango trees. The best insecticides for hopper control are pymetrozine + nitenpyram or imidacloprid. Moreover, the fungus is found in large quantities on fruit trees. Exostrobin or propiconazole is sufficient for fungal control.Besides, we do not see any problem in the trees that we plant in open fields.

Home remedies for backyard or rooftop gardens.

We have very few plants in the backyard or on the roof, and buying pesticides for these is a waste of extra money. There are also many small children in the home whose contact with pesticides can actually cause convulsions with nausea. Not too long ago I tackled roof garden bugs in a project that I will share with you. You can use ketoconazole group of shampoos to control plant fungus. Ketoconazole is a good fungicide for this shampoo, especially for fungal infections. Fungus can be easily controlled by using this shampoo in the roof garden. A few things can also be done to control insects such as neem leaf powder which is kept wet for three days and sprayed to control insects easily. Another thing that can be done is to hang a pheromone ceiling on a ceiling to repel insects.

Home Work

  • Which season does your region/country falls; and what are the best planting times and why are these times the best?

  • What is the importance of planting trees in the right place and in which places can trees be planted?
