It's nice to be here today. I hope you're all doing great today and had a wonderful time today. I'm here about this amazing knowledge of agriculture and this contest brought by @ahsansahrif on drawing contest.

An axe is a cutting tool/implement that has multipurpose function. It has uses ranges from firewood splitting into logs, delimbing of trees, falling of trees, harvesting of timber, shaping of trees and an axe has many forms. An axe consist of an axe head, and a handle.

Ages ago, the axe head was made of stone, while it's handle was made of wood. As technology developed, axes were now made of bronze, iron, steel and copper.

• First, I draw out a slanting line with a cup below to get at the handle of the axe.

• Then I complete the other side of the handle by drawing another slant the other way.

• I then aim at the head by drawing it out to fit in, it took a lot of erasing to get to this preferred shape.

• Then I complete the handle at the top and give it a nice edge. Then the drawing is complete.

Explain the uses/ importance of the axe.

There are many different reasons for an axe being used. Some uses are;

• It's used to chop down standing trees.
• It's also used to fall large trees.
• An axe is used to section logs and limb trees.
• It's used to break woods apart.
• It's important to separate woods into two or more pieces.
• It's used to split large rounds of wood.
• An axe is used ideally for bowl carving with other artistic work.
• It's used for cutting dead branches, twigs and firewood.

Types of Axe
There are many types of axes that are used for certain functions.

• Splitting axe
• Felling axe
• Broad axe
• Hatchet
• Carpenter's axe
• Battle axe
• Hand axe, etc

How to care for an axe.

• Cleaning the axe after each use. Make use of steel wool and acetone for the head. The handle cleaned of dirt and dry to prevent it from rusting.
• Oiling the axe which is an essential part of an axe care. Apply oil on the mental head, likewise the handle to prevent the wood from shrinking or drying out.
• Sharpening the axe for its efficiency.
• Storing the axe properly in a dey place is good for proper maintenance .
• Regularly inspect the axe for signs of damage or wearing off.
