SEC | S20W3:"Identification and Elimination of Crop Pests.

Hello dear friends how are you all? I hope everyone is well by God's grace. I am also very well by the grace of Allah. Today I appeared with a contest entry post. The contests running in the third week of the Steem Engagement Challenge Season Twenty are excellent. The contest published by Mainuna is, SEC | S20W3:"Identification and Elimination of Crop Pests. I am ready to participate in this competition with pleasure. I make every effort to complete my entry by fulfilling all the criteria. Let's begin.

When you visited the crop field, what pests did you observe there? How did you identify that it was a pest?

Everyone involved or not involved in crop production is more or less familiar with insect pests. We got a good idea about insects in agriculture education. I also got to know about crop diseases and ways to get rid of them. However, when I visit the crop fields I am introduced to different types of insects. Although I cannot name all of them. However, I have observed insects that feed on crops that have wings. There are numerous species of grasshoppers around the world, each known as a pest. I think there are no grasshoppers that are beneficial to crops. I can now say as a general reviewer that grasshoppers are better known as crop pests.

When I went to inspect the crop fields, I saw the insects clinging to the leaves of the crop. It lives mainly by eating leaves, stems, etc. of crops. They disturb the nutritional and qualitative meaning of crops. Most of them have very slow worm movement when I review them. But there are some grasshoppers that fly and sit on the leaves of other crops before they get close to them. Basically I found some of the insects very clever and some quite lazy in nature. They both cause severe damage to crops. I identified by their activity that they were basically insects.

Which pesticides do you think are suitable for controlling the pests you observed in the field?

Most of the crop pests I observed were crop insect infestations. They damaged fruit stem leaves etc. I have chosen an insecticide from the mentioned list to control them, which is imidacloprid. I can use it to control crop pests. Since the crop field I reviewed was paddy cultivation. So using the insecticides mentioned here will give quite good results. Insect attack on rice leaves, stems and flowers is a well-known issue. Although these insects eat some parts of the leaves of the crop. And because of this, the leaves of the crop become red and leaky. I can use this insecticide (Imidacloprid) to protect against this attack. By looking at the instructions on the label of the pesticide, I would mix the appropriate amount and spray it on the crop.

Mixture should be prepared depending on the amount of land. So that the crop is not damaged due to the high amount of pesticides. I will use 60 ml of insecticide per 6400 square feet. This will create volume and a nice mixture. It will play a significant role in suppressing additional insects in crops. I have seen about the use of such insecticides to control insects in our paddy fields. It played a very effective role. Of course, depending on the type of insects and their capacity, the amount of mixture is increased or decreased.

Describe the method of trapping insects by creating a pest trap using various natural materials.

I have observed various methods of pest control from crop fields in our area. A leafless tree stick is placed five feet apart on the farmer's land. And there the birds sit and eat the insects in the cultivated land. This process is completely natural. It provides one of the bird's seating arrangements and food. I find this completely natural pest control method very good and effective.

Another insect control trap to consider is the lighting trap. An electric light is lit near the land at night. Then a big pot filled with water is kept under the light. After seeing the light of the light, the insects come to the light, while the insects die in the water under the light. I have seen such methods applied to fields closer to home. It was quite effective.

Another insect control trap is the sex pheromone trap. In this method, a chemical substance is placed on the female insect to attract the male insects. The male insects are attracted by the chemical smell and get caught in this trap and die. This method does not affect the balance of the environment.

There may be many more such pest control methods that we will learn through this competition. I have presented the mediums I have reviewed which I think are clear to you.

Discuss in detail which crops you think the use of bio-chemicals is beneficial and cost-effective.

Biochemical application will be good and readily available for crops. But in some cases it may not be right to use it. Because chemicals can sometimes damage crops. If we grow this vegetable (cauliflower) then it is better not to use organic chemicals here. Because its completely an open vegetable, the biochemical elements here can damage it. Besides, there are other croplands where special consideration should be given to use of organic chemicals.

Basically the use of organic chemicals to control the pest attack in rice cultivation is quite good and readily available. The insects in the crops can be killed very easily. Besides, it is very useful to use organic chemicals while cultivating jute, banana, papaya. I see some other crops in my review where the use of organic chemicals is expected to do better than harm.

Make a chart of which pesticides are used for which pest in your area and discuss with us.

In our area I especially see five types of crops cultivated. They have different pesticides. The application of which is used to control crop pests. After cultivation of paddy, maize, potato, mustard, jute they are attacked by insects. Various insecticides are used to protect against insect attacks. Below I have charted the pesticides used.

There are many other types of pesticides that are used to control crop pests. I have listed some of the pesticides used in my area. Hope the chart is clear to you.

It is a very good competition. I participated in this competition with pleasure. So I invite my dear friends to participate in this contest, @pea07 @chant @radjasalman Hope you will participate in this competition.

Welcome to the agro learning challenge season 20 Week-3.

Observations and suggestions:
Grasshoppers are currently one of the major problems in many crops, including paddy fields. Since grasshoppers do not live in one place, it is often not possible to repel these grasshoppers. Imidacloprid works well only for permanent insects, but the dimethoid group of insecticides is much better for grasshoppers. Bhaiya has explained the technique of catching male flies using pheromone bait in many ways. Biochemicals often require a permanent location and are more expensive than chemicals. Farmers in your area are very updated, due to which they use very good quality pesticides. You wrote very well.
