Nintendo Switch sales reached 90 million units
Nintendo recently released its financial report for the first three months of 2021, which shows that the popular and successful Nintendo Switch console is on the verge of 90 million sales.
The console has sold 89.04 million units so far, up 4.45 million from the previous quarter. With that in mind, the Switch remains the fourth best-selling console in Nintendo history, but narrows its gap to its closest rival, the Nintendo Wii (101 million).
The best-selling console in the history of this company is Nintendo DS, which with 154 million sales, has the highest sales among handheld consoles. This history-making console has sold almost one million less than the most successful game console in history, the PlayStation 2.
Switch was released in March 2017 and its light version was released in September 2019. It is not bad to know that another new model of it with OLED screen will enter the world market on October 8, 2021.
