Yapahuwa - Capital of Sri Lanka ( In 13th Century)

I'm going to share some of the photographs we took in our last visit to historical Yapahuwa kingdom. This was the capital of Sri Lanka in 13 th century. It can be considered as a rock fortress. The real name used in that era was "Yapawwa" . Today we can see only few things related to that era. The basic structure of the rock fortress is there even today. It's a really nice place to visit.

The base of this fortress is a large rock which is around 100 m in height. You can enjoy a nice green view on the top of it. This is how you can see it. It's not a difficult hike. Just take few minutes to reach the top.
