Drawing expressive hands

Hi friends!

I will try to draw two hands paying more attention to expression than to realistic execution.

-----------------------------------------------

Starting by blocking the parts of the hands using the perspective rules and the proportions studies already seen in previous posts.
I try to give this hand a relaxed and soft pose, with long and thin fingers.

After the schematic drawing made with cuboids, I outline the shapes of the hand to achieve a more organic figure.

Now, to draw the second hand on top of the other, proceeding in the same way by schematically drawing the fingers with cuboids.

By erasing and outlining I get the two hands in a interesting gesture.

Shadows increase the volume and drama of the gestural pose.

The cool colours further enhance the expressive gesture of the thin, nervous hands.
