Let's Leave Quarantine.. Virtually

Sunday morning I decided I had been locked down long enough. I had not been out and about in quite a while. Especially, not on my beloved pony, Nirvana. Iron pony, actually. My Suzuki V-Strom 650 is a never ending source of joy to me when I am out riding. Well, almost. There was that time I tried to get a few more miles out of it and it got too stretched out to use and then the stator went out... but I digress.

Sunday I rode around south central Ohio and dreamed of longer rides like this one...

A couple years ago I and four friends rode from Indianapolis through Duluth and around lake Superior. We were gone about 6 days and saw some of the most amazing sights. Many times because we relied on local experts, not tour books.

On Day 1 we rode up to Wisconsin and spent the night with a friend of one of our group. After an amazing dinner that of course included "beer brats" (brats cooked in beer) he pointed us in the direction of Copper Falls, Wisconsin. When we arrived we were so glad. The hiking trails are not demanding (one of our guys is handicapped due to a shattered foot) and the views are spectacular.

After Copper Falls we road up to Duluth where we spent the night before crossing the bridge to the north shore of Lake Superior.

The day started out gray but the beauty was still stunning. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed the ride and taking them.
