Pinup erotica w/ Desert Rose!

Good evening, Steemit! I’m making a blog post on Friday night, while on a quasi-vacation, so good for me. I think I’m trying to make up for some lost time while my parents were visiting, and a number of other stressful things were consuming the last month or two. I’m visiting @roadscape and seeing his city, eating some incredible vegan food […I have to go back tomorrow for the damn oatmeal cookies], and catching up on some long overdue work. I might dip out for a bit to see a band and meet an Instagram friend. We’ll see.

So, I’m trying to get my footing and return some work to the clients that’ve been patiently waiting. During the fall of last year, I got a message from a beautiful Australian burlesque performer known as Desert Rose. She was in Minneapolis for the annual Minneapolis Burlesque Fest and inquired if I was available for a shoot. I had a lot of travel myself, but we compared schedules and there was in fact, a few openings to make it happen. We booked a date, and in a beautifully spontaneous way, we would be creating dark pinup together in my home town.

There was a time crunch, unable to prepare a lot, so my home became the obvious location for the shoot. That’s okay with me. @vermillionfox and I have been slowly collecting vintage furniture, frames and Victorian decor for years. It’s nice to have the opportunity to showcase the pride of our collection, especially with a gorgeous, nude Aussie pinup model. She wanted dark, so I managed to arrange the windows to give us key subject light with maximum shadows. She knew her body well and took great direction.

And, this is only the first few edits from my shoot with Desert Rose. These have been hanging over my head for a while, and it feels so good to get back to them. Sometimes the time from shoot to editing sessions gives me the opportunity to see the images with fresh eyes and remember just how badass the collaboration was.
