There are attractions in St. Petersburg that only a limited number of people know about. These places are not written about in guidebooks. It happens that these sights are not marked on modern maps - although it would seem that the joint work of a large number of enthusiasts should have completely ironed out such gaps.

I am talking about monuments and memorials, as well as other interesting architectural and engineering objects located in the closed areas of industrial enterprises. Only employees of these enterprises can see such monuments. Sometimes it is possible to get to such places during the celebration of the anniversary of the plant, when an open day is announced for a few hours and excursions are held.

But besides that, there are monuments that are not located on the closed territory, but next to it, but the average person gets the impression that the place is inaccessible for free visits. Simply because the average person will not go to check all possible entrances and find out if he will be stopped by security.

This is one of those places. A memorial of the Great Patriotic War and standing nearby museum steam locomotive Су-252-95 and diesel locomotive ТЭП60-1000 are available for visiting, but you can't find the way to them without a guide from the locals.

Museum diesel locomotive ТЭП60. Such locomotives were produced in the 1960s.

Nearby is an interesting engineering object: a turning circle. The circle allows you to turn the locomotive 180 degrees when entering (leaving) the stall. I'm not sure if this circle can be written down in the official attractions, but it looks very nice, doesn't it?

It wasn't very easy to figure out what this pretty tower is for, but I did track down this information. It's an oil loading station.

After looking around the memorial and the engineering sites, I walked out to the American Bridges. I find this place very interesting too, perhaps I'll tell you more about it someday.
