I, too, am certain there will be a place for community and connection online, away from the advertising, the commercialism and the control - wherever that is will be fine.

Sad to hear Thailand is in turmoil as well. One tends to imagine such a peaceful place under the influence of Buddhism but I suppose humans are humans.
