Thats great to hear that others are doing this too! I think it is an amazing opportunity and a win win for both parties!! The beekeeper explained that the first year you don't really get much honey as they are establishing but he would be willing to give me half a gallon from his other established hives. I'm excited just for that!! But I love doing my part to place bees in a safe area that is not sprayed by any chemicals. I planted a bunch of extra wildflowers today just for them. It's so excited to give back to nature and they will play a big part in pollinating our food forest!! I hope they are as happy to be here as we are to have them. :)

They are amazing. They can recognise YOUR face vs any guest to the property!! We are at end of Year 2. A bad year for whole area I am told. That's cool he is giving you a gallon! My beekeeper gave us half a kilo 2 years ago lol. I plant for bees and leave things to seed more.. they loved the kale and broccoli flowers this year.

Well he said half a gallon which I still believe is generous for the first year. But just to taste honey from our own food forest flowers will be so exciting. Haha. We have PLENTY for them to eat. That is so cool that they can recognize me. I didn't know that!! I plan to do a LOT of reading before they arrive. :)
