Hey man, a rising tide lifts all boats :-)

Don't expect too much, but Kitty and the other folks care a lot and will generally have your back if you stick around. There's ups and downs like with everything. Still, the good tends to outweigh the bad. It's a great place to experiment and to dip your toes into having an audience.

Happy holidays!

Thanks! :-)

How are you doing? If we don't speak (feel free to bother me) I wish you all the best for 2025 and hope you will join us again. Know you are in my mind and I miss you.

I'm doing ok actually. I'm lurking while writing stuff on the side. Mostly just practice and little bits of R&D. It's very chaotic and generally not worth sharing.

How are you? Are you looking forward to 2025?

You are lurking at what?
It's me and the (no longer too bloody) cat surving the cold. No solution for the cold feet yet.

I never look forward to a new year. I can't tell the difference if it comes to right now and in 24 hours. 2025 sounds SF to me like to other 2925.
Weird not that much happened except for human madness and no solution for loneliness and miseeable feelings, greed, envy. Humankind still falls for all types of commercials and although milliins are killed the populatiin increases.

Chaotic shared is fine and 'generally not worth' is most likely way better than average.

Thanks for replying. I like to have you around but hope your place is warmer than mine.

.A warm embrace frim chilly me. 👋

Lurking as in leaving the site open and monitoring things without actively posting much. Sometimes I look at challenges and end up writing stuff that's not worth sharing. This doesn't always stop me, but I'm just not feeling it for the most part.

Yeah, new year's eve is one of the loniest times in the year imho. Gotta make the best out of it though and stop pulling on grass to make it grow faster. It's not like that most people would listen anyhow, so why try to change them? It's like arguing with the family on christmas, for what exactly? We're just here and then we're not.

btw. there was something that made me laugh when I stumbled upon a whole page ad while reading the local news rag: "Do you like arguing on christmas? Join the Green Party." Made me chuckle.

Also what's wrong with your cat? Feline on feline violence?

For sure Christmas and New Year's Eve (weirdly we call it Old Year's Eve) are the most loneliest and miserable days in the year mainly because of the date and the commercials and shops. All the advertisements about happiness and being with the family is not what most experience and those who do how many of them are really happy? I know plenty saying they rather sit in their room and do as they like instead of hearing the talks (or fights) about whatever happened a looooong time ago.
With us it was tradition to dress up, long gala dresses and the rest was boring the only plus was my grandmother baking apple beignets (basins filled with them) and "oliebollen" (today I have nothing I can always bake them if I feel to it). After a long and booooring evening, it was the Old Year's Conference some comedians tried to make the Netherlands laugh. The old ones did it with satire and irony the younger ones mainly try to avoid stepping on toes and lack humour. I stopped watching which I did anyway since I no longer watch TV and if the government decides what the "right" comedian is, there's no art.

The cat.. long story, no idea but the misery is for at least 6 if not 7 months. Reason of kidney failure, bad DNA? Seems to be common with cats. The (new) vet said to consider to jab him into paradise. He stopped eating and drinking blood everywhere but he arose out of the dead, climbed twice in the x-mas tree and covered the living and kitchen with puddles of blood and poop. Always a great way of waking up. More weird is he feels better on those days (I can't say that about me).
The vet said he would be more miserable and in terrible pain, I see the opposite he's extremely happy although a bag of bones and more active than he was during the past months.
So far so good. My son will be back in a few days and hopefully, the cat will live a bit longer.

Till soon and you can always ignore the date, it makes life way easier.
