MY CITY WITH TRADITIONAL RETAIL|SHOPPING FOR FOOD ITEMS IN ILISHAN MARKET ILISHAN REMO, OGUN STATE
Greetings amazing entrepreneurs
Hope you all are doing great today? I wish you all the best in your day to day activities today. I'm glad to be participating in this amazing contest organized by @f2i5
Traditional retail shops has made my shopping experience very much easier and less expensive and this has given me the reason to choose it over and over again as the best each time I want to shop.
Before I went to the market (Ilishan Market), I checked around my home for the food items that I would need and after making my list, I walked down to the local market in my community located at Ilishan Remo, Ogun State to buy some food items that I would use to prepare soup and stew for the weekend.
The first food items on my list that I bought was dry fish, stockfish and egusi. But this time I didn't buy from the woman I used to buy from before because she was not yet open for the day when I got to the market. So I went to this very organized and neat seller who also sold at a cheap price for me. This first soup items that I bought are very necessary for soup making and mustn't be left out while purchasing food items for soup.
The next food item I bought was the bitter leaf vegetable. It's been a long time I made my soup with this vegetable, so at the sight of a transparent bucket filled with fresh bitter leaf vegetable on the sellers shopping table I had to change my plans of buying Ukazi leaf vegetable to finally buying the bitter leaf vegetable instead. I bought a small quantity too because I do not like the vegetable to be too much in my soup so my soup doesn't taste too bitter.
I also bought some cow skin meat "Kpomo" for my meat. I usually use this to make my soup because I love the crunchy taste i get whenever I cut it into tiny tiny pieces and use it to make my soup😋
I also bought some seasonings that I could use to make stew during the week because the ones I bought the last time has all been used by me. I bought a sachet of star maggi and a roll of the Gino curry spices.
I bought some fresh pepper and tomatoes for making stew during the week. I was actually surprised at the quantity I got at such a low price and it made me ask the seller why? And she replied, saying that the rainy season has made tomatoes and pepper to do very well so I should be expecting to get a large quantity of them at a cheap price. I felt happy with the response because for few months now fresh tomatoes and pepper has been somehow scarce and if you get to see, you buy at a very costly price due to the dry season that we were in.
I bought onions too! This time, I bought in a big quantity too. One that could last me for like 2 weeks and at a very cheap price too. Buying in big quantity from the abokinas actually saves money for me because when I buy from street sellers I cannot get such a big quantity at a cheap price at all.
And finally, I checked my list and discovered that all on my list has been bought. Friends, that was how easy and less expensive my shopping experience was for me and I look forward to doing more shopping in my traditional retail market soon.
The table below shows the prices of my purchased food items in my local currency and in steem using the coinmarket cap
