RE: Campus Connect Engagement League week 1- Effects of Asuu strike on students in Nigeria

in CampusConnect3 years ago (edited)

Thanks to #campusconnect for this beautiful and educational post as we approach our anniversary.

In respect to the question, I believe it will come to an end but right now what we don't know is when via the fact that it seems the public educational system seems to be a joke in the country called Nigeria as a student studying a five years course I have experienced two strikes in two years and all I hear is 'its for the good of the tertiary institution'. Education has become a political strategy in our nation and a political joke. It's really very painful.

For the second question I believe the best thing for the government to do is privatization of all public schools since they can't control the union ASUU. With private owners things will be focused on how to make each university get back to standard so that business doesn't run into loss.
My opinion though

For the second question I believe the best thing for the government to do is privatization

If schools are privatalized, then expect tuition fees to be doubled, accommodation fee will as well skyrocket, therefore I don't think privatalisation of schools is the best step to take.
