RE: Campus Connect Engagement League week 1- Effects of Asuu strike on students in Nigeria

in CampusConnect3 years ago (edited)
Just a week before the strike began in January, the students of the department did their final year project defence which was the last academic criteria a student have to meet before graduation. We all rejoiced that we only have the graduating list left to be released. It was soon followed by the announcement of the strike. It's almost two months now and we're still here. A four years course has turned to five because of this discontinued breaks in study. The strike is affecting the student more than the two parties involved. The ASUU body claimed that they are doing it for the future of university education but the government does not seems to believe that education is key as they refused to fulfil their long time promises.

I think the strike will end next month. I don't know, just my thought. Maybe for some political reasons.

To put end to this buhaha, i think the government and ASUU should approach the matter rationally and talk it. All conditions should be met and all promised fulfilled to avoid future cases. It will improve the educational system on the long run.

Viewing from this.perspective, ill say yes yes, it may end with the odds of it ending next month being at about 60%. Tbh, these our leaders are people who are engulfed with their own selfish desires. When it's time for an election, that's when you see them trying to behave as if they care bout the people, but they dont.. once they win the contest, everyrhing will change just like our current president Bubu that promised us change.

I believe ASUU is doing this for the future of universities. They're trying to cut the bud in the nip, and while it may not seem beneficial to us currently, the situation would become critical if not tackled now.
