The Power Of Not VotingsteemCreated with Sketch.

If Sanders, by some last minute miracle, becomes the Democratic nominee for the 2020 general elections in America, I hope for, and expect a record turnout unless by then we're all quarantined. If on the other hand the choice in November will be between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, I hope none of my American brothers and sisters go out to vote for any one of them.

This short post is aimed at my leftist friends primarily; do not let your anger at Trump fool you into voting for yet another Wall street presidency with Biden. Don't replace one corrupt elitist with another. Sure, you might gain some short term harm reduction, maybe, if Biden wins, but you'll have lost your chance to show the Democratic party the error of their ways. Time after time they've lied to you. Time after time the Democratic presidents ran on a program of change, and time after time the people got the short end of the stick. Clinton paved the way for the 2008 crash, was involved in "China Gate", which was his version of Trump's Russia Gate; in 1996, a foreign government didn't just meddle, it donated.

President Trump campaigned as his own man, refusing money from special interests. That position may come in handy in the Russia investigation ahead. At least these investigations won’t go the way of the FBI’s 1996-98 inquiry into Chinese attempts to influence U.S. policy directly by funneling money into Bill Clinton's re-election campaign.

Obama received the Nobel Peace price, when all he did was intensify all wars with drone bombings, he and his administration full of JP Morgan executives bailed out the banks, but not the home owners after 2008, he deported more immigrants than any president before him and wages didn't rise. And now you're about to vote for his Vice President, the one who repeatedly tried to cut a deal with his Republican peers in order to cut all social safety nets, the one that not only voted for the war in Iraq, but defended his decision to do so long after it was clear that the invasion was based on lies, and now lies about that whenever he's asked about it.

Rev. Jesse Jackson's Iconic ‘David And Goliath’ Speech Still Matters Today

Looking back at 1984, I was 16 back then and my father was delighted to see a black man run for president, a black man by the name of Jesse Jackson who was running against Ronald Reagan; I could easily make the case that Reagan, and not Trump, was the most dangerous president in modern American history, as he and Margaret Thatcher from England started the politics that ultimately lead us to the Trump presidency; Trump is not your problem, he's a symptom of the disease called neoliberalism, the materialization of the belief that governments are the problem and that markets know best. Watch the above linked speech by Jesse Jackson, and you'll see that he was fighting the exact same uphill battle Bernie's fighting right now; it's all just history repeating itself, with all these rocks laying around and people refusing to pick up their slingshots... And in the absence of a Jackson or Sanders, your weapon is to not vote.

If you want to pull the party, the major party that is closest to the way you're thinking to what you're thinking, you must, you MUST show them that you're capable of not voting for them. If you don't show them you're capable of not voting for them, they don't have to listen to you, I promise you that.

Don't be fooled again. Don't vote for Trump, but don't vote for Biden either if it comes to that. Vote for reasonable Democrats down ballot, but leave the top spot empty; neither of the options is worth your vote. That's my opinion anyway, as someone who is not an American citizen. Biden is just another plutocrat, and with him in the White House you'd have voted in a more capable neoliberal, a more capable liar, a more experienced fraud. Take off those Joe-tinted glasses and smell the sewer (or swamp) that is Biden's dwelling place. So do not listen to Bernie Sanders or anyone else saying you need to vote against the most dangerous president in modern American history, that you need to vote blue no matter who; if you do that, you'll have voted for a return to the policies that paved the way for Trump's ascendance in the first place. More importantly, you'll have messaged to the Democrats that they can always count on you, so they'll never have to pay attention to your wishes. So, I disagree with Sanders on that point, and also with the Rational National in the video below who sees the problem and difficulty of the upcoming general elections if Biden is the Democratic nominee, but ultimately would go for short term harm reduction with a vote for Biden. I agree with Lawrence O'Donnell in this video, who I've already quoted above.

As a District Leader (responsible for overseeing 44 precincts ...) for 6 years, when I left that role @zyx066, my number one "wish list" item was a change in our voting laws to have a "None of the Above" option!

If enacted, this would allow the American people to say to its two-party system "overlords", "None of Above" to the clowns presented to us as our "lesser of two evils" options. Whereby we almost never get to vote for someone, but instead are forced into a vote against someone ...

Given its implications and truly returning "power to the people," almost guaranteed to never pass ...

Definitely something I would like to see. As it is people see not voting as lazyness instead of a vote for neither.

It would be nice to see this as an option.

There is a lock on power by a Party that is so out of touch out of control, who would even support Biden, even if your not awake he's just as screwed up health wise as HRC, aand the Republicans suck just as bad!

Biden, Does the U.S. not have anyone healthy or under 70 years of age to run for office.
