What's-Up From The @ecoTrain Community #4!
Whats-up everyone! I hope many of you had experienced some lockdown relief, with many countries starting to relax the isolation rules. Let's hope this continues and some of us at least can get back to something approaching a normal life. Steem has been busy as always lately, and I'm happy to see the ecoTrain community growing in numbers! we are just about to reach 500 Subscribers which is great number considering the size of Hive as a whole.
This weeks curation focuses on many topics from our community and on Hive related to Sustainability, Homesteading, Cooking, and more. If you post on any of the following topics, please do post to the the ecoTrain community where you can find more like minded people!
ENJOY THIS WEEKS CURATION!
A huge congratulations as @stortebeker finishes the roof structure of the Mazunte (Mexico) Earthship! This is a big project, and one to watch if you are interested in off-grid eco building!

Mazunte Build - Mission Accomplished!
These days when someone drives by our property, it's not uncommon to hear them cheering, shouting, raising their arms, clapping, or expressing their admiration in any other way. We just sit back, wave at them, and smile. Yes, it is true: in spite of all those obstacles life threw at us, we have persevered, and finally it has paid off: we now have a reciprocal roof on top of our Earthship-inspired round building. (Applause please!) The Magic of the Thirteenth Week
Looking back, it almost seems like only yesterday that we got back to a nearly abandoned project. In another sense, it also feels like we had been working on this thing for an eternity. So a sober look at the calendar reveals some really interesting things:
Get inspired by watching Sam and his family create beautiful gardens and food.. This week they have some harvest!

Sunshine 🌞 children 👯 love 😍 food 🌱sustainable ♲ life 🎉Pyrenees 🌄 France 🇫🇷
There is something so indescribably satisfying about watching plants & children grow side by side. Only parent gardeners can know this feeling.
While this may be my fifth year as a father it is my first year growing food, so please excuse my excitement and ongoing desire to share pictures of vegetables with you ;)
A tree planting project update from @chirisaikai using Hive and blockchain.
@chrisaiki
Decarbonize Hive – Plant a tree – May 2020.
I used to use @treeplanter on Steem to decarbonize my activity, Unfortunatly, the @treeplanter bot is not working on Hive. I think it is a good thing that we have less bots on Hive, upvoting bots are a pain in the neck, but @treeplanter is really an excellent idea.
Maybe I will continue some activity on Steem to help them !!!
We have 2 new actors on Hive :
@reforestation and @co2fund
I am going to help them both.
Unfortunately my « 2 million trees by 2020 » project did not make it.

It really difficult to gain people’s trust to collect funds !
Hydroponics is a great option when you dont have much soil. Check out Gabby's experiment, so far going well!

10. Day of my DWC hydroponics experiment
Hi everyone!
This is the 10. day of my experiment and the results until now are not bad.
What is it all about?
While we are in this pandemic lockdown situation and actually i cant work from home, so i started to read and study, so after this whole crazy lockdown finish i can focus to invest in a new project.
My plan is to make a solar powered hydroponics farm in the philippines. Hopefully this year.
But to make it solar powered is not enough. I really want to have organic plants.
A fantastic repurposing post.. who hasnt got an old pear of pants of two hanging around?

Upcycled Denim Sewing Machine Organizer Made Of Leftover Denime Pieces
This is the piece that has inspired me to make my own sewing machine organizer. I was this about a week ago and could not get it out of my head. Unfortunately the table I'm working on is not big enough for everything, so I need to be creative. An organizer like this not only looks classy but it's helpful and useful too. So I finished the bag I was working on and got to work.
The whole thing is made of #recycled denim and fabrics. The denim pieces are leftovers from the bags I'm creating and the lining (what's on the other side) is what's left of the shirts I'm making the linings.
It always brings a smile to my face to see parents teaching their children how to grown food and plants. Catch up with @sabrip and see how her garden is going.

My son making his first seedbed.
The moment we help our children plant a tree, we instill in them a series of values and principles such as love, respect, dedication, responsibility, ecological and social awareness that will help them make the planet a better place for live.
When our children dig a small hole in the ground, they place the seeds, manipulate the soil, water the plants, and watch the trees they planted grow, fill with great enthusiasm, and at the same time learn a great Lesson of respect and love for the nature.
My son and I water the plants every morning, remove some weeds and remove their dried leaves. But there was a moment when he told me that he wanted a plant, and since he had all the matrials, I helped him make his first seedbed.

AND FINALLY
Join us for the Question Of the Week. This week the @ecoTrain asks
"DO WE STILL HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH?
Did anyone notice what’s happened lately, and by lately i mean over the past few years and especially this past month! Censorship is something that is happening under our noses, and has been for quite a long time now. We have gotten used to our social feeds being censored by companies like Facebook, but that is what they do. They provide a feed that is based on what THEY want you to see. You Tube used to censor only the most radical and hate related or clearly abusive content. It appears that speaking out in public or sharing controversial views are as good as illegal in many parts of the developed world, and most of our news and media come from just a few huge companies.
THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY. BE SURE TO LEAVE US A COMMNT OR RESTEEM TO SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
