Steem Delegation as an Investment

The Steemit platform allows you to delegate or loan Steem Power to others in return for a percentage of their profits they derive from that SteemPower. This investment requires no work from you and you earn Steem every day while your SteemPower is delegated.

How to delegate Steempower
Sign into your account at Steemworld.org.
Type: www.steemworld.org/@your Steemitname,
in my case this would be www.steemworld.org/@shortshots.
Go to delegations.
Select Add delegation.
Type the name of the person you wish to delegate to.
It will tell you how SteemPower you have to delegate.
Type in a number and hit ok.
It will ask you for your private key or to sign into Steemconnect.
Then you authorize this with your Active private key.
Next it will say delegation complete
If you check your delegation list a the name of the person you delegated to will appear.

How to undelegate SteemPower.

Look at your list of people you delegated SteemPower to.
Find the name of the person you want to undelegate and select edit next to their name. When the pop-up box opens type 0.0 in the box marked amount of SteemPower.
Another box will open saying you are undelegating. Select ok.
It will ask you for your private key or to sign into Steemconnect.

If you check your expiring delegation list an amount equal to the amount you undelegate will be here.

Why delegate SteemPower

Delegate Steempower loans people your voting power.
Delegated “Steem Power” never leaves our wallet, so we never lose control over our Your Steem never leaves your wallet.
The amount of SteemPower in your wallet doesn’t change, if you delegate, but your voting power does.
If you delegate Steempower your wallet still shows the Steempower in your wallet, but the amount you delegated is show preceded by a minus sign.
Your “voting power” or the value of your vote is now reduced.

Example:
I have 10000 Steempower.
My wallet will have Steempower 10000.
My maximum or 100% upvote is worth 20 cents.

Example continued
If I delegate 5000 Steempower, my wallet still says Steempower 10000, but also has this notation next to the 10,000 (-5000) and this comment (part of Shortshots Steempower is delegated.)
My maximum or 100% upvote is now worth 10 cents.

Remember:
You can only loan Steem Power you own, not leased or delegated SteemPower.
When you delegate the other party gets the added voting power immediately.
Once you loan Steem Power you can remove it immediately, but it takes four days to get your voting power back. But the person you loaned it to loses the ability to use it immediately.
