Hallo Freunde

Vor etwa einem Monat war ich wieder zum Goldwaschen in Österreich, diesmal hatte ich eine ganze Woche zur Verfügung, damit ich mir das Land auch ein wenig anschauen konnte.

Ich bin am Dienstagmorgen losgefahren und hatte Glück, ich bin sehr gut durchgekommen. Gute 10 Stunden war meine Fahrzeit, bis Bad Hofgastein. Wo ich meine ersten Nächte verbringen wollte und wo meine Stammpension ist. Im Vorfeld habe ich die Pension nicht gebucht und bin einfach auf gut Glück hingefahren, die Wirtin kenne ich, mittlerweile ja schon sehr gut, weiß, dass ich einfach bei ihr klingeln kann. Das tat ich nach Ankunft dann auch und sie freute sich sehr mich wiederzusehen und gab mir direkt mein Stammzimmer, sodass ich schnell alles ausladen und mich wieder auf den Weg machen konnte.

Mein erstes Ziel war ein kleiner Bach ganz in der Nähe. Denn wollte ich mir erstmal nur anschauen.

Dann fuhr ich nach Taxenbach in die Kitzlochklamm, bezahlte den Eintritt von 9,50 €, setzte mir einen Helm auf und stieg langsam die Klamm hinauf. Nach den ersten paar Metern hatte man einen schönen Blick auf die Schlucht. Aber es wurde immer genialer, je höher man kam. Nach gut 20 Minuten war man dann schon richtig weit oben und es ging immer weiter. An einer kleinen Abzweigung wollte ich nach rechts gehen, aber ich kam nicht weit, denn die Frau hinter mir, klopfte mir auf die Schulter und sagte, das wäre der falsche Weg. Das wäre nur für Kletterer mit der entsprechenden Ausrüstung erlaubt zu gehen. Da ich keine dabei hatte, musste ich den anderen Weg über die Treppe nehmen, um weiter die Schlucht hochzuklettern. Nach wiederum gefühlten hunderten von Höhenmetern, kamen dann einige Abzweigungen mit kleinen Tunneln. Einer davon ist ein alter Probestollen der alten Goldgräber gewesen. Das war was für mich natürlich sehr interessant! Auf den Fotos kann man auch alte Spuren sehen. Dort wurden Probebohrungen durchgeführt und die Reste sind heute noch zu sehen.

Irgendwann war ich dann auch oben angekommen und muss sagen, dass das bei weit über 30° schon anstrengend war. Aber ich wurde mit einer tollen Aussicht belohnt. Beim Abstieg ließ ich mir Zeit, machte viele Fotos und schaute mir die Jungs und Mädels in den steilen Hängen genauer an.

Nachdem ich wieder weit unten war, konnte ich sogar noch einen Goldwäscher bei der Arbeit beobachten. Ich wusste ja schon, dass es in der Schlucht Gold geben sollte, aber jetzt hatte ich auch den optischen Beweis, sodass ich mir sicher war, dass wir bei unserer Rückkehr, hier auf jeden Fall Gold finden werden. Ich habe mich dann eine gute halbe Stunde mit dem Herrn unterhalten, es stellte sich heraus, dass er selbst aus Deutschland kommt, erst zwei Tage vor Ort ist. Ich selbst bin dann auch weitergefahren, da unser Goldwäschertreffen in einem anderen Bundesland stattfinden sollte.

About a month ago I was back in Austria for gold panning, this time I had a whole week available so I could see the country a bit too.

I left on Tuesday morning and was lucky, I got through very well. Good 10 hours was my driving time, until Bad Hofgastein. Where I wanted to spend my first nights and where my regular pension is. In advance I have not booked the pension and just went there on good luck, the landlady I know, meanwhile yes already very well, knows that I can just ring her. I did after arrival then also and she was very happy to see me again and gave me directly my regular room, so I could quickly unload everything and get back on the road.

My first destination was a small stream nearby. Because I wanted to look at me first only.

Then I drove to Taxenbach to the Kitzlochklamm, paid the entrance fee of €9.50, put on a helmet and slowly climbed up the gorge. After the first few meters, you had a beautiful view of the gorge. But it became more and more ingenious, the higher you got. After a good 20 minutes one was then already really far up and it went on and on. At a small junction I wanted to go right, but I did not get far, because the woman behind me, tapped me on the shoulder and said that would be the wrong way. That would be allowed to go only for climbers with the appropriate equipment. Since I didn't have any with me, I had to take the other way up the stairs to continue climbing up the gorge. After again felt hundreds of meters of altitude, then came some junctions with small tunnels. One of them was an old test tunnel of the old gold miners. That was what for me of course very interesting! On the photos you can also see old traces. There were test drillings and the remains can still be seen today.

At some point I arrived at the top and must say that at well over 30 ° was already exhausting. But I was rewarded with a great view. On the descent I took my time, took many photos and looked at the guys and gals in the steep slopes more closely.

After I was way down again, I even got to watch a gold panner at work. I already knew that there should be gold in the canyon, but now I also had the optical proof, so I was sure that we will definitely find gold here when we return. I then talked to the gentleman for a good half hour, it turned out that he himself comes from Germany, is only two days on site. I myself then also moved on, as our gold panning meeting was to take place in another state.
