ODI Series between NZ and India (Whitewash for NZ)

After successful series for India against Sri Lanka and for NZ against Pakistan, the two teams have met for a 3-match ODI and 3-match T20 series. Both the teams are in a good shape, as they are the no. 01 and No. 02 ODI teams right now. Anyway, India has managed to whitewash the KIWI s in the ODI series and became the first in ranking once again.

India has been brilliant in the past few months, and look at their last 5 matches batting first, 409/8 vs Ban Chattogram, 373/7 vs SL Guwahati, 390/5 vs SL Trivandrum, 349/8 vs NZ Hyderabad, 385/9 vs NZ Indore.

  • 1st ODI was a thriller. Batting first, India scored 349 runs after 50 overs. It was just Gill's show. This little man is showing his class continuously. He scored his first double ton becoming the youngest to do so. When the wickets are rattling from one end, he became the lone warrior for India.

  • But chasing the target, NZ top-order didn't succeed in the batting. They were 131/6 after 28 overs. Especially has to mention the improvement of Siraj, from being a run machine to the recently most successful baller in the world, especially during the powerplay. But Michael Bracewell and Santner put on some show, terrifying the Indians. These two put in 162 runs for the 7th wicket getting them so close. But in the final over, Thakur got the big fish and won the match for India. Bracewell scored 140 runs in just 78 overs.

  • The second one was a nightmare for NZ. They ended up with 108 runs, batting first, after 15/5. India chases the mark easily within 20 overs.

  • And just a few hours ago, India won the third match by 90 runs margin. Batting first they scored a mammoth total of 385 runs. At one point, it seemed they could have easily crossed the 400 mark with a 200+ partnership for the first wicket. Bot Sharma and Gill scored centuries. But NZ pulled off the Indian middle order, getting it to 310/6 after 4o overs. In the last few overs, Hardik and Thakur took the score to 385 runs.

  • Once again, the batting line-up failed for NZ. Devon Conway scored 138 runs from one end, but no one helped him. These are very good batting pitches and NZ only scored 295 runs after 41 overs. They could have chased with that run rate. Anyway, the Player of the match was Shardul Thakur, and the player of the series was Shubman Gill.

So, that's it for this week. Um, not going to discuss the league matches. Hope you will enjoy this season. Just give a comment!

Until the next time! Enjoy!

Thank you.
Best Regards!
