Allamanda or rukaththana is a common flower in tropical countries. Yellow allamanda is very common among different varieties including red, purple, and orange. It has a slight fragrance which is very pleasant. Trees are full with flowers all day, all the time.

My story is not about Rukaththana flower. We had this rukaththana tree in our garden for a long time. Today is the first day I observed the fruits of Rukaththana.

Looks like a Rambutan. Isn't it?

Our rambutan tree is also located close to Rukaththana tree. So first I thought it is a Rambutan fruit, but after I realized it is not. The fruit is almost equal to Rambutan in size and shape. But it was covered with sharp thornes.

This avoid animals from eating the fruit. So I assumed this plant spread with seeds inside the fruit. So I decided to split the fruit and check the inside.

You can see the seeds that are packed as slices. It seems they are spreading by the wind. So I googled more details about this.

My assumption is pretty right. The dried fruit split and releases seeds that can float.

I think we can't eat it😬

Visible rambutan skin, green, thorns. they are almost the same, only this fruit can dry out dark black, our soil also has a tropical climate, but I haven't found it in the garden.. my father is too busy cleaning the garden.

This is not rambutan maulidar.. a fruit similar to it..

I was just thinking, right it's very similar😊

We also have rukaththana in our garden. But I saw this for the first time. At times I feel that we are careless of things in the environment. That's why we don't know about these things.

Ha haa.. very true..

This is simple environment. But I also saw this for the first time. We all need to aware about the environment more than this....🤗
