Guppy Fish Colony | 5% for SL Charity

Once I wanted to own a fish tank when I was little. But my dad didn’t give me the permission to have one. There were several reasons for that. First thing is he doesn’t like to keep animals at home.

What he says is, they should live freely anywhere. (About our cat, I kept him without his permission 😅). another thing was we had another cat back then and he could attack the tank. And most important issue was, since I was little no one wanted extra trouble of cleaning a tank…

Even if I wanted a fish tank, I know nothing about them. I know only few names of them. They are goldfish, Guppy, Tank cleaner, තිත්තයා and some others.

After we got lotus pots we had to put some fish in it to stop breeding of mosquitos. For this task most suitable type is Guppy. They don’t grow much larger. But it looks like they breed fast.

They have very colorful tails. I like to see how they swim around turning those colorful tails. At the beginning we had only few guppies in our lotus pot. Now they have become a big colony.

After a rain I was used to look into those lotus pots and remove excess water from it. Today also I went to remove some water. And I noticed that the number has increased a lot. There were big bunches.

Little ones doesn’t have colors. And also female ones(As I have noticed). But males have different colors of tails. There were light blue, orange, red tails. Some are having little tails and some are big comparing to their body and beautiful.

I have put my hand in the water with the purpose of catching the red guy and taking a photo. At first only little ones came into my palm.

Big blue guy started to attack my fingers like telling my finger to get lost from that pot.

Some how I managed to trap the red guy after some effort and took a photo before he start to panic.

After all these my mind was relax because of these little guppies.

I should mention, there is this other guy who has a majestic red tail but hard to capture for a photo.
