A Charity work done by රෝද දෙකේ රස්තියාදුව - Donation Day 01 - School 01 - Chapter 03- 5% Sl Charity

Hello everyone... Today I'm going to present you the third chapter of our charity work series. If you missed reading the previous chapters you can read them by using Chapter 01 & Chapter 02.

After the completion of packaging the gifts, we had to finalize the dates to visit the schools. We have four schools to visit for this event. The first three schools were situated in North Western province & another one is located at North Central province. In our previous charity works, we hired a van or lorry to carry the gift items & we were traveled by motorbikes. But due to the second wave of the corona, we were unable to do this as previously. So we canceled the motorbike tour & limited the number of members who participate in this event. By considering the total distance for the whole journey we planned to complete the event within two days. We hired a bus because we can fulfill the transport requirement, of us & gifts. According to the plan, the bus arrived at the packaging location at about 11.30 pm. Then we started to load the gifts to the bus. We were able to leave from Colombo at midnight at 12.00 am.

The main reason to depart from Colombo that much earlier, was to face the incidents which can occur due to the Covid 19 pandemic of that era. Police roadblocks, random rapid antigen tests & other legal problems may we have to face during this tour. But we were lucky to cross the Western province border without any matter. Our first school was Goluwawa Primary School - Thalwita - Nikaweratiya. We planned to go there at about 8.30 am. But we were there at 4.00 am. So we had extra time to start the function & we all had a nap on the bus until 7.00 am. With the morning sunshine, I realized that this village is familiar to me. I went away from the bus & walked some distance towards the village. At that time I identified, that one of our relatives was live in here & I was came here last month for a funeral function. Then I called them over the phone & we went there to have a body wash. They hosted us with a warm welcome. Then we went to the school to give them presents. A little function was organized by the parents & the staff of the school. Before the function starts they gave us breakfast. Then they started the function. We saw the happiness of them in their eyes because we were unable to see their faces due to the face masks.

Apart from that, we donated five computers for this school. Some students have never seen a computer before. They don't know how to work with it. We were a wonder to see such a situation. The principal told that he have requested a computer several times from the authorities but they were didn't respond. We saw happy tears from everyone's eyes. At that time, we realized that our commitment and hard work shows the perfect results.
