The salesman and Charlotte's suspicions are confirmed, but before they can alert the authorities, the robbers take them hostage. As they wait for the refueling truck, which is unknown to them has been crashed, a diverse group of characters, including an elderly couple, two aspiring criminals, and a local rancher, enter the diner, each adding to the growing tension.

The situation explodes into violence when Charlotte stabs Beau, triggering a bloody gunfight that leaves everyone dead except the salesman. Seeing the opportunity, he tries to escape with the robbers' loot but is interrupted by a young couple, leading to further tragedy. In the film's climax, the salesman ends in a dramatic showdown with the sheriff, culminating in a fiery explosion and a poignant ending as the stolen money scatters to the wind.
