SINHALA TAMIL NEW YEAR CELEBRATION IN MOSCOW, RUSSIA

There was a sinhala hindu new year celebration recently in Moscow, Russia recently. This event was organized by the sri lankan embassy of russia. it was a joy to participate in this event for me. Russian those who never seen a colourful cultural event like this have appreciated effort of the organization comitee.

This picture shows the traditional pillow fight. every participant have won a price for their participation.

this was the most awaiting contest for everybody. it is the contest of princess and the prince of the new year.

these are some traditional decorations done by the university students in russia.

theses are the statues of elephants which are belong to the embassy of srianka.

the guy who is in the picture was elected as the prince. and he was such a talented guy. and he was a world champion professional dancer in russia.

this shows how the kids have enjoyed the traditional Goony race.

finally this little boy was the winner of the fancy dress parrade.

I must say that this was a great moment for us to take part in a celebration like this as we are university student in Russia.
