In this article, I will be explaining what steemit is all about, how you can register and become a successful steemians.

Steemit is a social media platform which rewards it's users with steem for making a post.
It is a decentralised platform, decentralised in the sense that it is not controlled by an individual but the authority is being distributed. Steemit is mentally, intellectually and mentor oriented.

Rewards in Steemit

Reward is an appreciation given to a person for performing a specific function. It can also be a token awarded to a person for a job well done.

In Steemit, rewards are given to people who makes contributions in Steemit. These rewards are of two kinds, and they:

• Authors reward
• Curators reward

Authors Reward

An author is a writer, a person who originally created a work, especially literal composition or a book.

In Steemit, there are people who creates work of literal composition, they are called the author. There are reward that is given to a person for making a post. When a post is made, it is curated in dollars.

Curators Reward

Curators Reward is the reward that is given to a curator for upvoting a post. When a post is made, it either upvoted or downvoted. When a post is upvoted, the curator receives a reward for upvoting.
A curator doesn't receive a reward for downvoting a post but is only rewarded for upvoting.

How To Register

To register in Steemit, the following steps are taken:

• Login to
  http://www.stemit.com
• Click on"sign up"
• When you have signed up, input your email address and click on I am not a robot. When you have done this, click on continue in order to continue with other process.
• Confirm your email and phone number
• Select your country code, your phone number
• Select and click on "continue".
• Input the confirmation code and continue
• Input your account name, create a password and re-enter the password
• Click on Steemit cannot recover lost password
• Select and click on create account.

When your account has successfully been created, you can then login to your account using your password. Congratulations you have successfully become a steemian.

Steps To Take After Registration

After you have successfully register your account, there are some necessary steps you need to take and they are

Join Communities: there are alot of communities in Steemit, you need to join in communities of your choice. The communities in Steemit include:

• New comers community: in this community, you are allowed to make post in order of achievement tasks. These tasks will help you learn more and get acquainted with Steemit.

• Steem Alive: this community is where you can post your daily report.

• Steem School: this is where you post articles that will teach and encourage steem users especially the beginners.

• Financial Security: in this community, write up on how to boost, enhance, improve and establish a stable and secured financial status of steemians.

• Steemit Crypto Academy: this community is where professors from different countries gives their lectures and at the end of each lectures, assignment are given. The students who are qualified will do the assignment and submit. Reward are given based on how good you did the assignment.

There are alot of communities that you can join based on your choice.

After you have join in any community of your choice, start making a post.

Steem, Steem power (SP) and Steem dollars (SBD)

• Steem: Steem is a cryptocurrency in Steemit. Steem are sold with respect to price of US Dollar. The recent price.of steem is $0.437590 USD.

• Steem Power (SP): this is the amount of steem a steemian has. The amount of steem power a steemian has is what makes him/her more qualify to participate as a steemian.

• Steem Dollar (SBD): steem dollars is the reward you get for upvoting a post. When a post is upvoted, it is rewarded in SBD. The steem dollars are then changed to steem by buying steem.
