BIOGRAPHY OF THE PROPHET ﷺ. ..
PART :-••••••12...
Arab Governments and Chieftaincies
In the year 267, Judhimah died and Amr ibn Adi ibn Nasr Lakhmi succeeded him. This tribe was the first ruler of Lakhmi and was a contemporary of Shapur Ardashir. After that, the Lakhmiyya ruled Hira continuously until the reign of Qabaz ibn Firuz. During the reign of Qabaz, Mazdak emerged, who was the standard-bearer of Ibahidism. Qabaz and many of his subjects followed Mazdak. Then Qabaz sent a message to the king of Hira, Mundhir ibn Ma'asma, asking him to adopt the same religion. Mundhir was very jealous and refused. The result was that Qubadh deposed him and in his place entrusted the rule of Hira to Harith bin Amr bin Hajar Kindi, a follower of the Mazdaki call.
After Qubadh, the Persians fled to the hands of Khosrau Nausherwan. He had a strong hatred for this sect. He had Mazdak and a large number of his followers killed. He made Mundhir the ruler of Hira again and sent Harith bin Amr to him. But he fled to the region of Banu Kalb and spent his life there.
After Mundhir bin Ma'asama, the rule of Hira continued in this generation until the reign of Nu'man bin Mundhir, then Zaid bin Adi Abadi falsely complained to Khosrau about Nu'man bin Mundhir. Khosrau became furious and summoned Nu'man to him. Nu'man secretly went to Hani bin Mas'ud, the chief of Banu Shayban, and entrusted his family, property, and wealth to him and went to Chosroes. Chosroes imprisoned him and he died in prison.
Meanwhile, Chosroes, after imprisoning Nu'man, made Ayyas bin Qabisah al-Tai the ruler of Hira in his place and ordered him to ask Hani bin Mas'ud for the trust of Na'nan. Hani was jealous and not only refused. He also declared war. Then Ayyas set out with Khosroes's army and a group of governors in his procession, and a pitched battle took place between the two sides in the field of Dhi Qar, in which Banu Shayban was victorious and the Persians suffered a humiliating defeat. This was the first time that the Arabs had defeated the non-Arabs. This incident occurred a few days after the birth of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) was born in the eighth month of Iyas' rule over Hira.
After Iyas, Chosroes appointed a Persian ruler over Hira, but in 632, the Lakhmids regained power and a man from this tribe named Mundhir bin Ma'rur took over the reins, but he had only been in power for eight months when Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) entered Hira with the flood of Islam.
