PART:-•••••33 ...

In Arabia, there were some forms of male-female relations that came into being on the edge of the sword and the tip of the spear. That is, in tribal wars, the victorious tribe would capture the women of the defeated tribe and make them its harem, but the children born to such women would feel shame for the rest of their lives.

In the era of ignorance, having multiple wives without any restrictions was also a common thing. People would also marry two women who were full sisters at the same time. After the father divorced or died, the son would marry his stepmother.

The man had the right to divorce and there was no specific limit to its extent. (Abu Dawud, Naskh al-Marajat al-Talat al-Thalaat, as well as books of interpretation related to al-Talaaq martan).

Adultery was rampant among all classes. No class or type of human being was exempt from it. However, there were some men and some women whose sense of superiority prevented them from getting entangled in this evil. Then, the condition of free women was relatively good compared to that of slave girls.

The real problem was slave girls, and it seems that the vast majority of the people of the pre-Islamic period did not feel any shame in being associated with this evil.

Thus, it is narrated in Abu Dawud and others that once a man stood up and said:
O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! So-and-so is the son of Maida. I committed adultery with his mother in the pre-Islamic period.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no room for such a claim in Islam. The pre-Islamic period is over, now the boy will belong to the one who has a wife or slave girl, and the adulterer is stoned."

And between Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abd bin Zam'ah, the son of Zam'ah's slave girl... Abdur Rahman bin Zam'ah... The dispute that took place regarding the bed is also well known (Sahih Bukhari 999/2, 1065, Abu Dawud: Al-Wald al-Fras).
