Hi everyone, how are you all? So, December in Pakistan means wedding season. I got a random and unexpected invite from my uni friend for his brother's wedding. He had told us about it, but we weren’t sure if we would go or not.
Mostly, the plan was not to go, but when it’s your friend’s brother’s wedding, who wouldn’t go? After a few days, on our regular day, our friend handed us the wedding card.
We were expecting an online card, but it was an actual card, so we decided to go. We all got ready for the wedding. My friend came to pick me up with her brother, and it was a 25-minute drive from our house.
We arrived and found out that the hall was separate, and all our male friends were on the gents' side. We were looking for our friend whose brother was getting married, but we couldn’t find him. We found our seats and sat down.
After that, our other friends came to meet us they were really nice. Then, my friend introduced us to her family, her sisters and mother.
Me and my friends sat and chatted and took pictures of each other. Then, the bride and groom entered, and after a while, my friend's father called her and said it’s time to go home. We were like, what? We just got here and haven’t even eaten yet. So, we waited and waited.
Meanwhile, our male friends messaged us saying they had already eaten and were getting ready to leave. We told them to wait until we ate.
Finally, the food came. Here’s a funny part: except for four of us, there were four older ladies sitting with us as well, and one aunty was handling the spoon for ages while I was sitting with my plate, waiting for her to stop.
Then, my friend came and said, “Why aren’t you eating?” I whispered to her, saying the aunty is still holding the spoon, so I couldn’t eat. Haha. After that, we finished our food and got ready to leave.
On the way out, we met our uni friends from the male side. We were supposed to take a group picture, but because of the separation, we couldn’t, and the photo turned out bad.
So, when we left, we said goodbye to all my friend’s family members and went back home.
