This year the World celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah on the same day….

25th Kiskev / December 25th

In honour of this great Miracle … God descending to dwell in his Holy Temple (Mishkan) called Yeshua (Jesus) ….

Yeshua (Jesus) Our Salvation. … Yeshu-ati

I created this animation of Joseph (Yosef) singing Ma’oz Tzur to his wife Mary (Miriam) and his son Jesus (Yesuah / salvation) on their 1st Hanukkah 2000 years ago.

Rock of our Salvation ( Yeshua)

Ma'oz Tzur" (Hebrew: מָעוֹז צוּר, romanized: Māʾōz Ṣūr) is a Jewish liturgical poem or piyyut. It is written in Hebrew, and is sung on the holiday of Hanukkah, after lighting the festival lights. The hymn is named for its Hebrew incipit, which means "Strong Rock of my Salvation / Yeshua …. and is a Name or epithet for God in Judaism. It is thought to have been written sometime in the 13th century, although recent research suggests much earlier ….

Ma'oz Tzur Yeshu'ati, lekha na'eh leshabe'ach.
Tikon beit tefilati, v'sham toda nezabe'ach.

My Refuge, my Rock of Salvation! 'Tis pleasant to sing Your praises.

Let our house of prayer be restored. And there we will offer You our thanks.

When is Hanukkah 2024?

The dates of the holiday are based on Hebrew month of Kislev, which usually coincides with November-December in the Gregorian calendar.

This year, Hanukkah will be celebrated from Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 2, 2025. It's only the fifth time since 1900 that Hanukkah has fallen on Christmas Day.
