Assalam o Alaikum steemians, as I already told you before I am a CS student. I like programming a lot and have been learning it for about 2 years now. As the graduation is nearing, like my other uni mates I was looking for a scholarship to add value to my CV. I am trying my best not to waste any time and learn things. Recently NCL in NED gave a few scholarships, few of my batchmates enrolled in it.

I saw their posts and asked one of them to let me know if there is some other opportunity available. My friend talked with her team head and he asked me to visit the lab for an internship. It was in Ramzan so I went there at 9 pm after not sleeping the whole night.

During Ramzan break, the uni was off for students, and the corridor which is always bustling with crowds was empty that day, I expected it to be a short meeting, but the guy asked to join the team on the same day. The news was overwhelming for me as I really wanted this opportunity to happen, but on that day I did not even take my laptop with me as I was not expecting things to happen the same day. The guy arranged the lab PC for me to work on that day because of the absence of my laptop. It was basically an internship of DL (deep learning). So the lab has a state-of-the-art PC to train the DL models which requires a lot of computing power.

This beast was a dream PC for any tech geek equipped with the latest GPU RTX 3090 and a whopping 64 GB of RAM. I took a moment to appreciate the beauty of RGB lights in it, it was like something which gives you a glimpse of the future.

The next day I came fully prepared with my laptop in my bag and passion in my heart to avail this opportunity.

My teammates were already there doing their share of work, I consulted the team head for assigning a task, and seeing my proficiency in python he asked me to write a script to filter the dataset. I settled on my place and started working.

Hours passed by and we worked unstopped, it was near 12pm, when our team head came and everyone briefed him about the tasks assigned then he shared key insights which contributed to our knowledge. After listening to him we worked for an hour more, he asked us to leave and it was about 1:30pm, we were feeling the fast quite a lot due to high temperature that day.

After that tiring day I came home and I slept. Then after iftar I went for taraweeh and after that I came back home and took a look at the sky wondering about the the interview test I gave previous week for another internship, it was literally the best test, I solved the code first in all candidates and left the room confident that I will get the position for sure, later on when I inquired about it, I was not called for interviews, maybe because I am a second year student and they wanted final year students. Anyways whatever the reason was, I was a little disappointed and waited on that failure, now I was thanking Allah for testing me and giving me the better opportunity in the form of another and better internship.

This is why learned people say 'Never loose hope.'
Your experience is a true example of trust on God and trust on your ownself. I beleive your friend was just a helper to get you to your dream, but it was your passion which kept you hustling for more. There's always light in the end of tunnel and you just entered the bright phase now. There are more opportunities to ace in future.
Keep hustling, boy. Your hard work will take you to places, InshAllah!
