How Do I Introduce Steemit..

I thought it is better to share my experience on how I introduce steemit to my friends. We shouldn't forget roots, so first of all let me tell you a little history about steemit in Sri Lanka according to my knowledge. @theguruasia is the person who first work hard to introduce this platform to Sri Lanka ( as far as I know ). Then his closest friends worked to build the Sri Lankan community. When the time passes, due to some reasons many users left. I joined very late to the show. It was the time of #the100daysofsteem project. I did a research and found 6 other active members in different levels. Specially @madushanka was a very nice and knowledgeable person who help me a lot. With the diarygame season 2, I started to introduce some of my friends to steemit, and also invited other existing user like besticofinder to join with @steemblog contests and finally, as a country we are here!

I am so proud to write my process of "Introducing Steemit" . I will organize it as points for clarity of reading.

My First Question...

image.png

When some one ask me about steemit or, when I want to bring some one to steemit, it is my first question. Those who are not interested in writing don't remain here during difficult conditions unless they have any other tricky mechanisms. The best example my colleagues who participated in the diary game season never cried by telling their posts were not visited by @steemcurator01. They didn't stop, they didn't left the platform. Even today, I mention them as examples to newly joined members.

I Don't Promise Votes

image.png

I never talk about dollars when recruiting people. What I say is, "You will get a little reward for what you write. But if you do some thing extraordinary, you are open to go for more. But you can't be rich one night. Start this as a hobby" The best example is @sandupi. She joined with diarygame. She just wanted to write and have a fun out of it. She enjoyed her very first 2$-4$ votes lot. She did many experiments to build a own pattern to her. She improved a lot by looking at others with her courage. Finally she found her pattern. And now she is doing very well as well as she is helping others a lot. According to my opinion, when recruiting a person for long run, we have to give first place to their inner passion.

I Give Them Time to Think and Study Others Profiles

image.png

If they agree to face to bad times, I give some good profiles to them and ask them to study. In this steps they get an idea about what to write. The way they write can be improved later. In this step if they are willing to accept the challenge, I teach them to make the account. For every thing I have made tutorials now, but early days I repeated them it multiple times.

I ask them to select what they are really passionate on. @sandu is a super talented in crafts and foods as well as writing and she is going in her path by aggregating all her skills. @anusha96 is so busy with her profession as a nurse, but she manage to write in her spare time, @damithudaya is crazily like on cricket so writes about cricket most of the time. @sandupi loves singing and she is singing for music for steem. And @praweenw96 is writing movie reviews which is his passion, (unfortunately credit of recruiting him is not completely mine)

I push them to go forward in the area they like by showing opportunities.

Welcome to the Steemit!

image.png

Once they are ready with account, I add them to my private channel where all other friends in. It's a kind of wonderful place that the new comer can't stay without talk. There are friends recruit by me, and next level friends invited by my friends and also a third level. There are 20 members but generating about 500 chat lines per day, at least. They are asking questions, answering other's questions, giving suggestions, discussing trending news and also some casual conversations too. New members quickly become too friendly and they learn by each other. In the first time when I recruit members, I had a big work but now it is a team work.

Basically I recommend them to go through Achievement program, at least Achievement 1 to get the first experience in steemit.

I Give Some Basic Conditions

image.png

When I introduce a member to steemit, the first rule I give is "Do not copy paste" I strictly mention them to do unique contents as otherwise there are no survival here. Secondly I ask them not to keep more than one account, just full focus on what you are doing. Third, I advice them to post frequently, other wise they miss the rhythm of steemit. Also they are asked to engage others as much as they can. There is a set of thing I repeat for every new comer.

Telling Secrets of Success

image.png

After they settled up with their introduction post, they are provided with so may instructions about making the second post. Until they come to a good level I follow back. Even second level and third level recruitments. Then I help to promote them selves in an area they like and then let them to fly their own.

Are they All Still in Steemit

image.png
I have introduced about 9 members directly. But only 4 of them are still active. But non of them left by telling steemit is boring, they got so busy in their real life.

I love my friends a lot.

Do you know, we, @anusha96, @sandu, @dinoli, @randula99 and me won the first place team prize in diary game. It is the first set I recruited.

@damithudaya won spud4steem and so many contests (more than 10) and an active moderator in World of Cricket.

@sandupi is getting famous in music for steem. I am really proud of them.

Challenge is Retention

image.png

Here in my case, busy life is the main reason for inactive accounts. Even though they receive good rewards and even though they like to write, they are restricted with personal works. Some times I see when I ask them to write, they don't trust about the site. Sometimes they feel afraid when I say it is blockchain based.

I think I wrote everything I do when I introduce steemit to some one.

Thank you for coming actually 😍You are the first one I introduced

Ini informasi yang padat dan terperinci. Ketika saya bergabung dengan Steemit saya tak mendapat bimbingan dari yang senior, kecuali yang baru gabung. Jadi, infomasi masih minim. Tapi saya coba gabung. Akhirnya saya sekarang jadi anggota steemit. Namun, saya merasa jauh tertinggal ketika membaca informasi seperti ini. Kenapa tidak dapat dari awal ya? Terimakasih telah berbagi.

Thank you so much for your entry! You are very active and have met a lot of new friends and brought new talent to the platform.

Thank you and best wishes for 2021!
