Steemkids contest: what does love mean to you @delightdear

Most people see love in this way but to me love is a precious gift from God, a unique feeling that comes with inner joy. Love is a deep and positive feeling for someone, it could be your family members, friends or stranger. It means to put the interest of another above your own, tolerate and do good towards that person. Love can be shown by anyone, a child can develop strong feelings for the parent, a husband or a wife can love each other. Two strangers from different background can start liking each other and gradually start having emotional attachment for the person. Love is the reason two persons come together to live together forever as husband and wife. There is this child i am particularly fond of, her name is Gift, the mother usually dropped her with me every Saturday. When she was six months old she grew to be fond of me than anyone else, even the parents. So love can be shown by any one even a child. This girl here becomes part of my life, she practically becomes my adopted child so to say.

I have shown love to people, lots of people but i do not have to brag about what i have done because even the Bible says that love does not brag. But for the seek of this contest i will talk about few persons close my heart i showed love in one way or another. So last month a friend who turned a sister got married and few weeks after her marriage, i thought of what to do to surprise her. Being my bestie i know what she likes, so i prepared a pot of Editan soup for her( one of Nigerian delicacies, from Akwa ibom precisely). I told her i will come visiting but she should not disturb herself preparing anything for me. She complained bitterly that i should not come if i am not ready to take something, i told her i got this one, that she should not worry. I arrived her place with my pot of Editan soup, she did not see that coming so she was surprised and very happy. I was happy as well. Truly, there is much happiness in giving.

Like i said earlier, love can be shown by anyone, there is another friend who is now my sister, she is one of best thing in my life, she is caring, and a loving soul. In fact, she is everything you could ever wish for. She is a fashion designer, she made so many dresses for me for free. The best part of it is that we are always there for each other. Aside from being my designer, she has shown me so much love in many ways and if i was to talk about it time will fail me, she is really good. On one occasion, she surprised me with a new dress for one of our conventions, she bought the material and make the dress for me.

Love is a virtue that should be cultivated by everyone and be displayed in different ways not in just one particular way. If we were to display love in one particular way, life would have been fun less. Imagine if love was to be shown only when someone gives you something or you give someone something but the way we treat people or being treated is loveless. We showed love in different ways but there are killings everywhere talk more of if love was to be shown in just one particular way. It is sad that some people grew up in a loveless family, for these ones love is not something to be talked about. Personally,i grew up in a loving family, so i learned how to love. Our Christian meetings and God's word the Bible is another avenue i learned how to show love.

If we all have love, the world would be a better place, a safer place to stay but we can not achieve that because we all imperfect. Love is a necessity, a virtue everyone needs to cultivate. Love is not limited to the practical aspect of it, love is patience, love is kind, love is considerate. So whenever you are kind to someone you are in essence showing love to someone. If everyone display this unique quality, the world will indeed be a better place to stay.
