Hello everyone,
It's @emmaboy23 from Nigeria and I hope you all are doing great and fine. In the past few months I have discovered a talent and passion which I love which is crafting. crafting, a skill which I have grown to love so much especially with the use of carton and its results are always outstanding. I would like to thank @mesola for upholding and maintaining this contes"week 37 let's do it yourself 👉 craft creativity drawing origami DIY recycling and more" every week and allowing me showcase my creativity in this community, today i shall be crafting a tortoise made with cardboard, stay tuned.
MATERIALS USED
1 carton/cardboard
2 gum
3 pencil
4 ruler
5 blade
MAKING PROCESS
step 1
Firstly I carved out pieces of carton into my desired shape and multiple pieces, and then I began to gum them together.
step 2
As I continued with it's structure, I made the shell by applying more gum and attached and gum the cartons together.
step 3
After making the shell, I then cut out my carton into a circle shape and gum it to the shell of the tortoise.
step 4
I then made the head, hands and legs of the tortoise and gum it to the body.
Here's my final result.
INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT TORTOISE
These slow moving creatures have remarkable traits that makes them one of the intriguing animals on earth. One of the most exceptional facts about this creatures are their longevity, some species of tortoise can live up to 150 years or more making them one of the Longest living mammals. Their shells comprising of bony plates called scutes which protects them from predators and harsh environments, this remarkable armor allows them to withdraw theirselves into their shell during danger sealing themselves within for extended period. These are some interesting and fun facts about this amazing creatures tortoise and I hope you liked my craft.
