Defining transportation?

Transportation is the means by which people and things are moved from one place to another. It includes everything from walking, biking, and taking public transportation to driving a car or flying in an airplane. Transportation helps people get to work, school, and other important places. It also allows people to visit friends and family far away.

What was the oldest means of transportation ?

In the early ages of human civilization , people used walking and hiking to move around. Wheel was invented in Sumeria in 2300 BC. The first carts were pulled by horses, which were domesticated in the Near East about 4000 BC. The first carriages were pulled by horses and dogs in China about 1000 BC. The first motor vehicles were steamboats in 1814.

Transporting by the sea

To transport myself from sea i might be using a boat, a cruise, ships and submarines

Advantage of transportation by Sea?

There are many advantages of traveling by sea that are:
  • Sea transportation is faster than other forms of transportation. For example, it takes about two weeks for a boat to cross the Atlantic Ocean, while it can take four or five days by land.
  • Sea transportation is often less expensive than other forms of transportation.
  • One gets closer to the nature as sea transports are often on the waters.
  • Sea transportation is less likely to be disrupted by bad weather conditions than other forms of transportation.
  • One can see beautiful landscapes while traveling by sea .
  • Sea transportation often provides a more luxurious experience than other forms of transportation.
  • Sea transportation allows one to travel in different parts of the world.

Disadvantages of transportation by land

Some disadvantages of land transportation are that: 1. It can be difficult to find a place to park when traveling by land. 2. Due to over congestion of traffic , it can be difficult to get from one point to another in a timely manner. 3. It can be expensive to travel by land. 4. It is often more dangerous to travel by land than to travel by sea. 5. It can be difficult to see the beauty of the landscape when traveling by land. 6. There are times when transportation by land can be disrupted by bad weather conditions.
