Social studies homework:Drug trafficking

Greetings and good evening to all steemians here, I am glad to take part in this homework given by @udyliciouz, in the #steemkidsandparents community, which is about drugs trafficking, we all have different knowledge about this topic so I will be answering the questions given by our teacher

Firstly let's break this down for a better understanding.

• What is a drug
  Drugs are known as a substance that's used as a medicine to cure an illness or disease, a drug is also a substance used as for narcotics which is taken for pleasure, to reduce pain, it has side effects which might cause numbness or stupor.
• What is trafficking
  This is a process of promoting or exchanging a good for money.

With these definitions we can easily define what drug trafficking is,

• Drug trafficking
  This is the illegal distribution, promotion, exchanging and selling of illegal drugs which is not accepted by the nation or world at large.
  Let's take Nigeria for instance, they have put to law drugs that are illegal in the country and if youre caught in the possession of these illegal drugs you will be prosecuted for that crime, because it is now a crime and you broke the law.

We have ways/forms in which drug can be trafficked and there are

1. Inter-Nations drug trafficking
   This is a type of trafficking with involved two different country, i.e the sale of drugs by a group or person between two countries, for example someone from Nigeria trafficking drugs to someone in Russia is a very clear example of inter- nation's drug trafficking, which is punishable by the law.

2. intra-Nation drug trafficking
   This is the selling/distribution of illegal drugs within the country, it can be from a different state like, using Nigeria a state like Delta and Lagos, if there's an illegal drug exchange occuring between this both parties then it Is known as intra nation's drug trafficking.

These are the forms of drug trafficking, as we learnt that Inter-Nations drug trafficking is between countries while intra-Nation drug trafficking is within that country.

1. By a person
   Drugs are being carried by drug traffickers using different methods, either by having athe sole of shoes filled with cocaine or other illegal drugs, it can also be swallowed then brought out on reaching the destination, it's very risky as some die in the process, it is sometimes planted in a person's body, then taken out when ready.
2. By animals
   With the thought that animals won't be checked people did smuggle in drugs with animals.
3. With luggages
   A patch from a bag might be removed and a drug might be inserted and then sealed, without the enforcement agencies noticing
4. By postal services
   People do use these service to transport drugs, as they are sure that it won't be opened because there is a form of privacy which means you can't open a person's letter to read, so that means drug can be trafficked with these form.

1. poverty
   Poverty is actually the main reason for people dwelling into this act, as they are amazed by the figures a drug trafficker earns, so they want to take all the risk to take part and earn such figures so they can get out of such miserable condition.

2. peer pressure
   In the youths this is a very disturbing factor which affects youths, those that are into these will influence their mates with their earnings and clothing which will lead to an oppression and the victim will want to have these things to due to the promises in the business

3. unemployment
   It's a very big case that brings people into such business as they have no other choice than to take it as the only available option which will put food on the table, if the rate of unemployment is high such a country will have hight count/rate of drug trafficking.
   Let me just add how this can be solved, if the government can create more employment opportunities it will help reduce drug trafficking rate.
