my actions to make our environment cleaner, greener and healthier 🌲🌲🌲🌴🌴🌴

Greetings to the amazing steemians in the house. It's yet another opportunity to relate with other members of the community on the topic which emphasizes keeping our environment clean and healthy. Special applause to @ngoenyi for the opportunity to share our activities towards keeping the earth in good shape.

In as much as I love my generation because of the advancement in science and technology that has made life easier for us, I also envy the olden days because the earth was in better shape then. Sometimes we say that our forefathers were not opportune to enjoy cars, flights, generators, ships, and many more. We have forgotten that all those things contribute to today's problems, as they have polluted our land, air, and water bodies.

More to that, the rate of deforestation, erosion, dumping of refuse, and many other human activities that affect the earth is on the increase. These activities have made global warming to find a place on Earth. Nevertheless, we are still not handicapped since we can fight it out by planting trees, preventing erosion, and many other activities. Read below to know my effort toward taking care of the Earth.

Having the clear knowledge that making the earth greener will go a long way in making the earth more healthier and comfortable to live in, and also having it in mind that trees are one of the things that can save our lives, children, and even the next generation from the fast rising global warming, I felt it ideal and necessary for me to make a move by planting trees.

If we all can do this, trust me, our children and the next generation will have no cause to either cry of desertification or global warming. It doesn't require much effort. We only need to see the need to do it.

✅ How did you do it?

As stated in the lines above, planting of trees requires not much effort. All I did was after buying the tree from a Gardner, I dug a hole and poured water inside to make the place soft before the following morning. I did that because it was during the dry season and the place was hard.

The following morning, I put the tree (roots) inside the hole and covered it with sand. After that, I watered and it and I continued watering it morning and evening.

✅ Where did you do it

Happy to announce to you that all these were done in Highbreed model school in Ilorin, kwara state. That's the school I served as a copper. Within the 11 months I spent with them, I planted about 6 trees which comprises of mango, pawpaw, orange, and cashu trees. Although I'm not longer within the state, I'm happy I left something with them.

Already I know that there is a need to plant trees in order to prevent global warming. But as a copper who only have 12 months to leave a place, I kept asking myself what I will be remembered for after I might have left the place. What mark do I need to make? Remember, many coppers have served and left. Some are remembered for the mark they left, while some were not.

Although my conscious were clear because I performed my duty with all diligence, but I had it in mind that all those things will be forgotten after I left. Then it crosses my mind that trees stays as long as possible. As such, I decided to plant trees that whenever they sees it, they will remember that Christopher planted them. Till date, whenever I make calls with them, they tell me that my trees are growing fast. Soon, the trees will bear fruits that will serve as food to them. I know I won't get to eat the fruits, I'm happy that they remember me for it.
