I write this post as my entry to the word definition contest by steemkidss. Continue reading to see how I attempt all the contest tips.

What is delegation?

In every day English language, delegation means assigning your duties to others. It can also be said to mean sharing your work with others.
Now the work or duty is still yours but you chose to delegate to others to help relieve the burden. Delegation does not just relieve burden but can:

• Help others to also gain experience
• Help them to grow and be stronger in the field of work
• Build confidence in them

So to apply this in steemit, delegation means lending Steempower to another account. The Steempower is said to be the duty or work, delegating it to the account will help to strengthen it and make it stronger. It will also build a little confidence in the owner of the account and assist him to grow his own power.
The account can make use of any Steempower delegated to him as if it was his own. And he will always gain curation rewards if he uses it to vote on posts.

For delegation to be carried out, there must be a delegator and a delegatee.
Let me explain the both:

Delegator

This is the person who willingly lends his Steempower to another account to strengthen it. The Steempower still belongs to him and he can take it back at any time. But he is of great help to the account because he assists him to grow and also increase his voting amount.

Delegatee

This is the recipient of the delegated Steempower by the delegator. This person can make use of the Steempower given to him as if it was his. He also gains curation reward from it and increase his voting amount.
He should bear in mind that this power really does not belong to him and that the owner can take it back at any time. So he needs to work hard to build his own power.

What does delegation mean to you?

To me delegation is a strengthening aid to all account especially the new ones and community accounts. Delegation is what helps communities to grow and also to increase their support for their members.
If I increase my delegation to steemkidss community, it will help it to grow higher and also support others the more as it has been doing. The community accounts voting amount will also increase and everyone will be happy as they will have a more meaningful amount on their posts.
To me, delegation is very important.

What does delegation mean to steemkidss?

Delegation to steemkidss will mean increase increase in power, voting amount, more growth, increase in payment of delegation reward for individuals.
Delegation to steemkidss will also mean increase in active users as there will be more support from the community account. Also delegation to steemkids will help to attract more Curators in our community and they will support us more.
Steemkidss account is still growing and will need the support of all members in terms of delegation to keep moving ahead.
It is only fair for us to support steemkidss in this way since it has also been supporting our posts.

How can you delegate to steemkidss which is our official account?

There are many ways in which delegation can be done to steemkidss account but I will only talk about two ways. We can either go the quick delegation links that are found under every post that is made using steemkidss account. Or we go directly to steemworld and make our delegations. Here I will demonstrate though screenshots how it can be done.

First mentioned method
Step 1: Open any post made by steemkidss and scroll down to the ending.

Depending on the amount you'd like to delegate, choose the option. When you click on the option it wi take you to the next page where you will click on Continue

After that you will need to fill the box in the next page with your username and active key and the click on Get started and then complete the remaining steps.

It is very easy to carry out.

Second mentioned method

• Log in to steemworld.org/yourusername.
• Scroll down to click on delegations
  

Next you click on delegate..

After that you will need to fill the pop up box with the name, @steemkidss and also the amount you want to delegate.

Then confirm it by clicking Ok

Note: If you are already delegating to @steemkidss will like to increase it, you don't need to top the amount you want to add. You simply write the total sum of the Sp, both the one you already delegated and the one you want to add.
For example
I already delegated 1000 sp to steemkidss and I want to add 500 to it. When inputting the amount I want to delegate, I will not write 500 but 1500, which means that the total delegation I made is 1500.
But if I wrote 500, it will automatically cancel out the 1000 I delegated and it will be only 500 that I delegated.

I hope you understand this, we need to be very careful when carrying out this operation.

I increased my delegation to steemkidss to 1000 last month and I have tried to increase my delegation to 1500, but my active Steempower is not enough to do it.

I will keep powering up so that I can be able to make this delegation and therefore strengthen the account the more.
