INTERESTING REALITY OF SCIENCE
Hello steemians!
With pleasure do I bring to you a study on science, one of mankind's biggest achievements.
Science is a field that studies the happenings around us, why they happen and how they happen. Science studies the basics of life. There are some branches of science which include; chemistry, physics, biology etc.
There are many more broader areas of science. Chemistry studies matter, physics studies physical quantities,and biology studies life.
Science is not limited to laboratory experiments, or rocket science and space travel, little things as cooking, burning, washing, cleaning, all constitute science.
And of course, it would be proper to mention technology as one of the modern day sciences.
Technology is a product of science, as well as vehicles, generators, cooking utensils, some food recipes and preparation, home machineries like washing machine, dish washer, microwave etc.
Science has played an explicit role in the entertainment industry, education, income earning etc. Even the clothes and shoes we wear are all thanks to science
We can then say that, science is simply the study of existence, how things exist and why they exist.
Well, I find this very interesting to write about since I'm a lover of science. Here on steemit, we are able to interact and share information because science made it possible.
Science makes us to understand the world around us better, to know how things work, why they work etc. And of course that scientific study covers both living and non living matter.
Science in the area of experiments entails: observation, hypothesis, experiment, theory or law.
“Science says that everything around us is either solid, liquid or gas, other states of matter are plasma, Bos-enstein condensate”.
This matter could either be in a physical state or chemical state. Science studies matter and it's reaction under different conditions. By science, we have learnt that most solids melt by heat, and liquids evaporate by heat.
Gas condenses by cooling and liquid solidifies by cooling.
Science is not without the study of physical quantities like time, speed, length, density, mass etc, each of which have relationship with the other. Science also involves the study of life, study of organisms, their breeds, and how they interact and adapt with their environment.
As earlier said, science is broader than these,as it also involves, burning of substances; Ever wondered why a white paper turns to black ash in the presence of heat. Or why nylon melts in the presence of heat. Or why camphor doesn't melt under heat like most solids, but instead sublimes.
As beautiful as I have described science so far, some part of the society believes that science has done more harm than good in the area of technology. Due to some disadvantages like, cyber crime, online fraud, online blackmailing, children being exposed to adult content via television or the internet. The society has been faced with challenges brought about by science. Although, several operations have been put in place to stop,or at least reduce the rate of these online menaces.
Operations have been put in place to secure women who are blackmailed with their indecent pictures, public awareness on online fraudsters have also been put in place and many more. So even though some risks are entailed in scientific products, solutions have been made still by the help of science. So, I guess it is still safe to say that science has done more good than harm.
Conclusion
In conclusion, For centuries, the world has been evolving with the help of science. As science is helpful, it could also be perverted to being destructive. As users or consumers of science, we must be careful enough to guide our exposure in science,so that we can benefit and not be at risk . I was a science nerd back in high school, if you want to get my attention, just bring any science subject. Science is indeed changing the world, hopefully for the better because if we were to judge from just writers depict in movies, it makes you start to fear the negative possibilities it can open us to, but we have to stay positive and hope for the best.
