Hello kids, great to welcome you once again . It is no news that you all are the leaders of tomorrow and you have a lot to learn to become good leaders, one important lesson you must learn are GOOD MANNERS. Without good manners, you risk giving up your place as a good leader of tomorrow and as a patriotic member of the society. Today, there are lots of influences from the media especially, school, and other ill mannered individuals in the community these influences sadly are highly on the negative and influence kids wrongly, considering this I have decided to share posts on Good manners kids need to learn for "steem kids" inorder to encourage their productive growth in the society, once again welcome.

GOOD MANNERS NO.1

  • RESPECT THE ELDERLY: Now a days, regards for the elderly or aged has gotten lower and lower especially among the younger generation. It is said that the elderly are old schooled, out of fashion and not worthy of respect or consideration,Kids this is among the greatest lies this generation tells you.
In truth the elderly are like 🧭 compasses or what you call GPS that can help you find the right path if you make use of it. Because we refuse to mix with our elders and respect them ,many follow a wrong path that leads to doom,so please kids learn to respect your elders so you can get wiser, and live longer.

HOW CAN WE SHOW RESPECT FOR OUR ELDERS?

  • Greet them warmly.
  • Run errands for them.
  • Care for them, you can follow them for checkups or cook for them, read to them and pamper them.
  • Listen to them.
  • Ask for their advice.
  • Stand for them to sit on buses, parks or any public places you find them.
  • offer to carry their loads .
  • Buy them gifts.
  • Call them on phone.
  • Do not abuse or fight them.
  • Say Thank you .
  • Express your feelings gently and mildly.
  • Be patient with them.

These are some things you can do as a young person to show respect for your elders, this list is not exhaustive but I believe live it covers the basics. Kids you have to respect your elders and the elderly, they are the guides you need as you start your own journey in life.
Thank you for reading.

My mom turned 85 on the 11th. For the last 22 years she’s been staying with me therefore I know too well how important it is to help the elderly by;

  1. Lending a helping hand
  2. To listen to all their stories
  3. To praise them and
  4. To spoil them
Thank you for sharing these tips with the kids

Thank you so much for your contribution,it is really rewarding to care for the elderly. Keep caring for your mum,I know she appreciates you a lot.
