Weekly Contest 19 || The Diary Game || My Wednesday's Walk - 06/11/2024

It's my great pleasure to join and contribute my day's dairy to this round of Weekly Contest 19 organize by @m-fdo in the Steem Kids & Parents Community and by extension, the Steemit blockchain at large.

Permit me to take you through my dairy for the day as it unfold on 6th November 2024. As often said, Sufficient for each day have it's own goodness, happiness and badness, and of course there is little you can achieve for the day.

Morning

Waking up to find myself and family alive on a new day is something that usually makes me to draw more closer to my life giver, hence in the morning before anything, me and my family members go to God in prayer and thank him for his daily miracle of a new day and life and request for the direction, guidance and blessings of the day.

Thereafter I assist my wife to give attention to the new born baby who of course demands more attention, then attend to other house chores before I steps out for my Wednesday's walk.

Afternoon

My Wednesday fitness walk is within the community where I reside in, and it helps me to get a bit homely and watch things in the street as it unfold.

As I walk through the streets I decided to buy some items in a nearby provision store. As I walk towards the store I saw the shoemaker ahead standing outside his shop, so I decided to walk straight to him because I gave him my shoe to work on which he had not delivered for some times now.

On getting to him, he pleaded for his absence for some weeks due to some unfinish work the government engaged them with. He told me he had actually finished it and he went in and brought the shoe out, and that soften my anger toward him.

As we were conversing and sharing jokes, I heard him say, 'the masquerade are here', and when I turn my eyes and look back, heee, here they filled out - four of them with their black charcoal custume.

They walk about with banana leaf and machete in their hands asking people for money. Though this period is their time of outing in the cultural calendar of the community.

One of them actually engage me in a conversation in a bit to get a tip of my contribution.

Of course, trust the locals, people really have a scene to watch and laugh as the masquerades display some funny steps.

I did return home with my shoe thereafter and I continue walking around the house as I engaged in some house chores.

Evening

I spent the evening with my boy in a relax mode playing with him as he is very sensitive to people around him.

Meanwhile, I have recorded over 6300 steps in my fitness tracker to keep fit and healthy, because health is wealth

That brings me to the end of the day's dairy as I present it in this contest.

What a handful of activities for the day! Really a great memorable dairy!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Have a nice day and contest experience.

A great day that comes successful. I believe you cat fun a bit with the masquerades, this is their season and for masquerade begging people for money is not their fault rather the economic situation that we wake up to see push them to it. God will help us.

Meanwhile, our baby is really growing, looking very handsome, very soon he will start playing football, much 💕

Some youth still sees the masquerade practice as a means of making daily income, some use the opportunity to steal in the evening.
I can't wait to see the boy playing football oo, at least by then the stress will reduce. Thanks for stopping and have a great day.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:
Sounding like you're a witness. Anyways, thanks for sharing how your wednesday went. I don't know why my area just love taking these clowns out to scare people. I thought this kind of display is meant to be in villages and not towns. Anyways, thanks for sharing.

Remember to always share your post on Twitter. This POST LINK is a guide to that effect.

Yeah I am a JW. Some villagers still don't want to do away with the masquerade culture and they see it as a way of making money especially in this hard economy. I have shared the post on X. Thanks for the assessment and candid comments. I appreciate.
