INTRODUCTION

Good evening my fellow steemians @steemkidss community, I'm so happy to be here . Today i want to be sharing to you guys how I spent my day on the 12th day of july 2024.

You guys may be wondering what was the rally all about and what's made it to be more fun. The Lassa Fever Sensitisation Rally By The Red Cross was plann8 by the International Federation Red Cross,so it's something that's to be done all state and to other countries around the world to educate people around us the preventive measures on how to go about the Lassa Fever.

Information was sent to our Branch Secretary(BS) that our branch should take part on the rally within our state and how our state branch should go about the rally ,so it was left for our state branch to fixed a date that'll be favourable to us. So our BS decided to fix it on 12th July 2024.

INVITATION AND PLANNING

A week before the rally we've started sending invitation to the Delta state Red Cross volunteers, Red Cross divisions Delta state,Minister of health Delta state, Federal Road safety Delta state . On Thursday evening our BS decided to call on me ,being the chief security officer(CSO),Mr Felix the DMO(disaster manager officer) and other Branch administrative officers to make plans and sharing the t-shirts to all divisions heads.

On that Thursday evening the disc jockey(DJ) was booked and the venue was decided (Health center Nnebesi Rd opp stadium asaba),so it was announced on our WhatsApp group to our volunteers that everyone will be meeting at the venue and that the time is 8am prompt.

Our BS decided to meet up with the one catering group that will be providing us refreshments during the rally and drinks were bought ,so everything was put to order and decided to go to bed to rest for the next day.

MORNING

Waking up early in the morning around 7am, i decided to pray to God to may the day a wonderful , that while at the rally we shouldn't face any attack or bad news that we should all reaches our homes safely. After i was done with the prayers I decided to take my bath and I was supposed to be at the office on before 7:30am, after I was done taking my bath i decided to wear my clothes and rush to the office, my apartment is inside the office premises though our Red Cross branch provides accomodations for their volunteers, so the rooms are been share to me and two corpers who are both working at the Red Cross office.

Me reaching the office I made sure everything was in place,the posters and the flyers that will be shared to people, so after observing everything , pics was snapping was going on so i decided to joined and take pics

After the pics was taken,I entered the branch vehicle which was driven by our BS and there was other staff inside the vehicle that joined us to the venue which the rally will begin. As we reached the venue there were alot of people waiting for us who'll be participating on the rally as well.

As we reached the venue ,there was no time to waste to avoid the change in weather, our BS decided to make a speech telling us where we'll be rallying to and how we'll go about it so after his speech the dj began to play song and we started rallying, sharing flyers and posters to vehicles ,children,elderly ones the preventive measures and symptoms of Lassa Fever .

I took part on controling traffic and sharing posters and flyers to vehicles.

SYMPTOMS AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES OF LASSA FEVER

On the table below I'll be sharing to my fellow steemians the symptoms and preventive measures on Lassa Fever

SYMPTOMS	PREVENTIVE
Headache	Use traps,rat gums to get rids of rat in the house
Sore throat	Do not touch rat,dead or alive with bare hands
Back pains	Avoid eating food eaten by rats or exposed to rats
Chest pains	Block all holes in the house
cough	watch hands regularly with soap under running water
vomiting	Do not dry food on the ground or by the road side
Fever	Cook all food properly before eating
Diarrhea	clean your home practice regular environmental sanitation
Stomach pains	Dispose waste properly in covered wastebin

Returning Back to the Health Center

We reached out the market and from the market we turn backed to the health center ,it was really fun and interesting and it's ny first time rally being a Red Cross member. After all we went back to the health center and it was about 5pm in the evening and the day was almost gone so refreshments was shared to everyone and we all ate and decided to find our ways . Me i was been taken by the Red Cross vehicle back to the office.

As i reached the office I went back to my apartment and took my bath and rest ,cause I was stressed out and i was very tired due to all the walking
